That confirms my hopes and suspicions of the LEDs being SMD soldered to the PCB, but luckily not integrated into the pad mechanics, so there’s hope.
@TheGhostCat was it difficult to open it up? are there any (ribbon) cables to watch out for when opening the enclosure?
Also cool to see there are tracker nerds on the fediverse, I will give them a follow.
It’s all relatively easy going. The screen is fixed very well to the lid and has a ribbon cable to the main pcb that you’ll want to disconnect, though this is not entirely necessary. Looks like the pcb with the pads is also on a smaller ribbon cable so your path might be even easier for a pad swap.

Quite a strange track for me… I mean, not experimental in any sense… But somehow the tracker forces me into directions I wouldn’t usually go I guess. The results are a less planned and a bit more surprising to me than on other boxes that I know well…

Has anyone noticed a slight distortion/hiss in the right output when using on battery? Hadn’t noticed it until during the week there. Definitely think it’s down to using the battery pack as it seemed to vanish when plugged into the mains.
Feeling rough today after yesterday getting my second COVID vaccination and then having a cyst chopped out that according to the nurse was “easily good enough for one of those Youtube vids” 
so could be an excuse to sit in the sun and play around with the Tracker…

Nothing special and very rough as per usual but I like to share these wee simple tracks. I certainly do enjoy trawling those Legoweltz AE samples. Lots of good stuff in there. And this time I even managed to use 7 tracks simultaneously at one point. Progress… Also lots of use of the scale modes here which I haven’t done much with. All a bit messy but knocked it out in an hour or so.
Now for the triple whammy of feeling shite and to head off to watch Falkirk most likely lose at football. What a day…
PSA There is what looks like a MK2 on ebay UK for £395 at the moment in case anyone was looking to get one with the metal base (check with seller though) Not mine, no association with seller, caveat emptor etc.
I noticed this the other day but it happened when actually plugged into wall power. Submitted a ticket on GitHub. It only happened once so far and it was after I had been using it for a long time, like a few hours straight. Power cycle fixed it.
Just to add to this, I have a black mkI for sale. Pristine condition. I just have too many.
What’s odd is I think it’s only the once for me too. Sitting on couch earlier with no issues at all. Not a big issue at all really but will keep an eye on it to see if it creeps up again
