Polyend Tracker

is there anyway to tell from the outside of a polyend tracker box which version you have if someone wants to find out without opening the box?

I don’t think there’s a difference in boxes…
but without opening the box, I’m pretty sure weight would be the only way to tell.
Mk1 (and I assume mk2) is 4.3 lbs.
Mk3 is 2.6 lbs.

Not sure about total package weight either, but if we assume that the included packaging and components are the same contents in every version…
An unopened mk1 (or mk2) would be 1.7 lbs heavier than its mk3 counterpart.
Is any of this helpful to whatever your closed box situation is? Probably not, but I tried

Other than that, I can confidently report that the MK1 box is bigger than the MK2 box. Don’t ask me how I know, other than that I ended up with a MK1 and. MK2 at one point. :stuck_out_tongue:

Buttons. They’re different for the Mk1 and mk2. The AE have mk1 buttons. There’s a post further up showing images

On the external packaging?

After receiving the Polyend Tracker a week ago, I attempted to send clock out to a Model Cycles, with MC set to receive Clk In. Tempo for the MC shows EXT, yet upon pressing play on the PT, the MC won’t start.

I reversed the clocks, with MC out and PT in. No dice though PT shows EXT Tempo. Anyone have a clue how to address this problem?

Midi settings in tracker…. What are your transport in and out set to? 99%this is your solution.

Thank you, TheGhostCat – that was the issue. Transport set up to out now.

It looks like Polyend has listed the weight of the Tracker on their web site as ā€œ2.65lbs.ā€ since July, 2020. So it’s probably not a great way to distinguish between the Mk1, Mk2, or Mk3 versions.

July lines up with the mkIII version. They were sold out of mkII way before July.

Good catch…
Major retailers are a mixed bag also, with Sweetwater still showing this… (maybe shipping weight of the entire package?)

Meanwhile I just weighed my mk1 and it is roughly 2.6 lbs…. Soooooo, anyone know the weight of a mk3?

Regarding the weight, I think the original 4+ lb weight was a placeholder/mistake on their site. (I posted a little while ago in this thread).

The originally listed weight and dimensions were the same as a 16 inch MacBook Pro. These were changed to the current 2+ lb weight at least 12 months ago on the polyend site. I don’t think the actual specs changed, just the info on the polyend site.

Retailers seem to have not updated their listings.

As far as I can tell all versions are the same size and about the same weight (I doubt any trackers are over 4lb), but any Elektronauts with different versions can probably tell us.

well there are people in this thread who own more than one version right, could any of you guys confirm the difference in weight between the models you have?
