Polyend Tracker

“Long Sample Importing” - Can anyone elaborate?

I lost interest in Tracker when card streaming was off the table, has anything changed since then?

Thanks!

If a sample is too long to fit in the available 133 seconds for samples in a project, you now have two ways of dealing with it:

  • import a shorter crop of the long sample; and/or
  • import the sample with lower quality at half the sample rate (and thus half the size).

Ok that’s a step forward.
Dziekuje.

I’m becoming more and more tempted! I think I will probably buy one this year. Good job on the support Polyend, pleased to see the pace of updates.

Polyend Firmware Update 1.3.0 versus that one time in 2006 when i spent 8+ hours trying to install Linux on my 30gb iPod video in order to play a ROM version of Doom. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

What the world wants to know… did it work?

No—I forgot if i was using a video tutorial or a random message board post with directions but I definitely did something wrong because I never got Doom to actually run. All I remember successfully doing was getting the actual booting screen to run but I also recall that after giving up I had to reformat the iPod and reinstall its OS (I think). And since this was in the days of Windows XP, every process of downloading + installing + startup times made this a way longer and arduous activity.

Soooo… anyone wanna try installing Linux on their Tracker? Lmao.

It would be super cool if they could provide an amiga emulator as well : what about running octamed, protracker or digibooster from the tracker ?

i doubt that would ever happen. seems far too redundant all things considered

i’m sure there is someone on this forum who works in IT or tech (or knows someone that does) who could easily figure out how to install another OS onto Tracker–or really any other piece of electronic music gear with like attributes for that matter.

but you are right that it’d be pretty redundant… just as redundant as it was to spend 8 hours failing to get Doom to work on my iPod Video (5th Gen) back in 2006, while i could of spent that time just playing Doom on the computer i used to install Linux on my iPod.

sounds like the PT will be the music device which will be “played” and remembered because of its games.

I will be able to finally finish that Flintstones nes game I used to play at a mates house as a kid

Has anyone had an issue where the firmware update isn’t showing up when i go to the firmware update option under the config menu?

Or it could just be my folder was in the wrong directory…
