I asked on Benn’s live stream, Polyend replied and said its in there - and they will be doing demos at NAMM, so hopefully there will be some videos of it popping up.

it would jump around or skip values or just would be barely off. super inconsistent to the point that i ended up rarely using the wheel on mine

A video from Polyend‘s hp where you can see it being held with two hands. It does look a bit awkward imo.
might be useful if it could piggyback onto the original PT via USB so you could use the original interface (which is great IMO) but have access to the extra sample time and stereo. then undock the mini and go record rocks (*jam on the couch without plugging in a power adapter).
can’t believe they dropped the grid buttons honestly. those are so useful for many different tasks.
after watching benn’s video, it feels like this is an idea that they couldnt afford to not go through with after sinking in at least four years of resources into it. makes me think this small team is taking on too many projects and the quality of their products is lower because of it. i enjoyed the OG tracker but the lack of attention to the software was disappointing. i think polyend is alot like the beat making community, they love making new things more than finishing their products.
i wouldnt hold my breath on the OG getting any further firmware updates, its almost been a year since the last one, which still left behind many bugs.

I highly doubt that there was any user testing on this new ergonomic nightmare…the reach on the buttons as you hold it is going to be painful for some people I am sure…
My hands hurt like mad after using my iPhone in a supine position…

I wonder if they considered putting 8 buttons on the back for two handed use? And an accelerometer/gyroscope for modulation would have been useful.

Sounds like Ben is too invested in this and the company to give a fair assessment of it. Cool for him, and he’s obviously helped to shape the product (and the og Tracker) with his years of input and getting some travelling out of his strange promotional role, but now this needs a Loopop and other critical reviewer to really help gauge how this stacks up against everything else out there.
I want to love it, as I love Polyend for the Tracker. It was a breath of fresh air for me and the original price was incredible value, especially as the pre release original price for that was looking like it was going to cost 1k from the press releases and had everybody going mad, before it came to stores, but it almost feels like they used that product, selling it cheap to build the company and now want to attract a different clientele, happy to spend more on quirkier gear.
Perhaps it’s better for me to let it run it’s course and see what happens and maybe this smaller size is a reaction to the popularity of the M8, hoping to attract some of it’s potential customers, but I really hope they can put some of these upgrades into a MK2 tracker and not make me feel like i’m overpaying for it.
