Oxi One Hardware Sequencer

Damn, this is awesome and now I need to buy one

While this is true, on a live situation you won’t like to accidentally clear a project trying to load it. Save menu is something mostly exclusive for studio/composition use so it’s safer to have it there IMHO.

Makes sense, and easily learnt either way. But then shouldn’t Patterns work the same way?

Curently they’re cleared under the Load Menu, with Projects being cleared under the Save menu.

Haha no excuses for that

Getting a tiny bit better on Oxi-One each time I use it, but have a long way to go. The Pipe makes sequencing modular super easy.
Did a goofy jam with Oxi sequencing Just Friends into an Instruo Arbhar, L-1 filter and Mimeophon. Most percussion is Squarp Rample. Kodamo EssenceFM does the rest.

Using it as an oscillator, or otherwise “clocking” somehow?

Using Just Friends as an oscillator, which it’s terrific for, I Think. I’d get a second one if I could

Sorry, he made me more confused than ever about the oxi one. I could NOT follow what he was doing, when he got to adding notes.

Completely agree.
Even more knowing you can load a different project on the fly without stopping playback!

Shown briefly in the latest video  No interesting modulation from Oxi on this track though unfortunately I had Maths working hard instead. The visual feedback is very cool though, and useful!

Oxi is coming this week :muscle: I don’t have Modular stuff but still seems like a great sequencer for multiple synths. Does the Bluetooth works well with WIDI?
Thanks

ordered mine yesterday and I’m very excited, it’s pretty ideal for what I want to do for live looping/improv with my eurorack case.

seems like this sequencer is quite slept on for how powerful it is and how reasonable the price is.

It does work well with WIDI and any Bluetooth like iPad or Mac !

Got mine back yesterday - absolutely loving it, didn’t realise how much I’d miss it. Had a Sequencer on Chord mode - generated a 16 step sequence containing two or three chords, then using the random performance mode to change the probability of the notes as well as the octave of each note within each chord. Sounded absolutely lush.

Enjoyed experimenting with extreme strum settings for each chord to create unquantised notes here and there, and each note had a chance of being in a different octave, or not playing at all.

What that amounted to was a surprisingly ‘human’ sounding piece of music.

Does the sequencer support polyphonic aftertouch? I did not find any mention in the manual or forums. Do you know if it might be in the future roadmap? Thanks

Are you asking if the pads will ever support polyphonic aftertouch? If so, it’s not possible to add as it would require a different kind of sensor (hardware) rather than a software update. Would be cool though.

Will Hz/V be implemented?

It is implemented.

Hi all, I’m very close to purchasing an Oxi One - just one final question, does it have instrument definitions such as in the Cirklon?

I currently have the Hapax and while I like it a lot, it’s a pain to have to program in midi channels and notes (say for a drum machine) all the time. You can create template projects to sort of get around this but it’s nowhere near as nice as having instrument definitions handy and being able to load them at will.

If the Oxi One doesn’t have instrument definitions, is it planned for the future?

Oh also, does anyone know if there’s plans for more than 8 tracks in multitrack mode? This would be better for drum machines with > 8 instruments (like e.g. Tanzbar).

Thanks!

I thought that the hapax would get instruments definitions with a future firmware?
