Well, @Nils is a brilliant hardware head…I’m just a big dumb bass player who enjoys electronic music ![]()
I have a friend who is a very high level mastering engineer and his computer is older than mine. He doesn’t want to upgrade anytime soon because for his job, his rig is working perfectly for that. I can fully relate. Part of my income involves doing remote sessions, mix/remix gigs and I fear too much down time, swapping everything over
What a delight! The porting of all the UI improvements (pattern switch screen) and QoL (LAST /LAST!!) is really, really nice as a DT2/DN2 user. Twinshot seems like a just-about-perfect addition and really in the spirit of the machine, and the FX filter pan is a big surprise and sounds phenomenal. Now, to craft the perfect set of samples…
Thank you @Elektron .
Updates like this one is why Elektron devices are at the center of my setup. Other companies have much to learn from you. Software updates are not just to fix bugs: they are there to breathe new life into older existing gear. Long life to Elektron gear and long life to Elektron.
<3
@cgb I added a better audio only version to the original post
yeah, changing critical parts of your setup is basically a guarantee of spending more time learning than doing stuff for usually a lot longer than you expect unless the swap is very seamless. apple transfer does make it pretty easy to set up a new computer to be nearly identical to your old one but even with new machines it takes many hours (plus all the re-doing various passwords and licenses that didn’t get carried over automatically for whatever reason) and if going from a very old machine it would be quite a long process and you’d discover a bunch of versioning issues along the way.
And I really like this!
You can fake side chain compression duck with this, for instance…
No more copy/paste trigs from tracks + it takes into account source track’s trig probability ![]()
Or you can make big chords from several tracks and push them to AFX to get some paraphonic filtering…
Track relations is a really handy feature!
Thank you Elektron!
This! I was asking only for this, was waiting only for this, requested only this on this forum and via your request feature. Now my Syntakt is, where I would love it to be. Thank you, Elektron! ![]()

I’m happy the way Inphoniks RX1200 software emulation sounds where you can adjust the distortion and sample speed after importing the sample, besides the regular pitch. Would be even better in an elektron box since this update feels close to the SP approach of short sample time, pitch, reverse, loop, filter. Simple and effective. Love it!
I can of course create a 12-bit sample through the RX and import it but I would miss the pitch and distortion options.
There is a pdf circling around on how the 12-bit 26.04Khz pitch works on the SP here and here
Would buy the Digitakt 2 if it could do this.
There is the place:
Very well explained and very pleasant voice to listen to.![]()
Finally actually reading the patch notes. So many little goodies. The NOT A:B conditions are gonna be incredible, I’ve wanted those for so long. The bug fix for “copying a track sound to a track using a different machine had no effect” is great! I assumed I was doing something wrong, didn’t even occur to me this was a bug!
I just sent them an email about NOT A:B last week. This is fantastic.
I sincerely hope this update creates a ton of new ST sales for Elektron. I bought my ST nearly at day one as a sort of ‘utility’ piece. Like, if I have a tune nearly done, but just need to quickly add an additional kick or mono synth, I’d go to the ST. To my surprise, the ST turned out to be that, but also much more than that. I’ve always thought it was the most underrated Elektron box, but it seems little by little, people are starting to get this thing. Huge thanks to everyone at Elektron for their hard work!
I won’t be able to do the update until sunday or monday, but that gives me time to see what others are cooking up and to wrap my head around the new features
great video!!!
I was considering one as it’s the only takt I haven’t tried.
Even last year during NGNY, it crossed my mind a few times.
I’d like to try it some time for sure, so happy diving into TV tho currently I’m not feeling the need for much else. I think they’d make a great pair tho.
Man that really needs to be on OT
Ah, well. No syntakt for me then, unfortunately. Even per-project samples might have swung me, but not global.
I use the TV/ST for live sets at the moment. Great live setup. My DN2 sits standalone on my desk as I’m slowly working my way through @DaveMech’s mastery course. Those are the only 3 Elektron boxes I currently own and I feel so lucky to have them. For writing, I alternate between the 3 in like week long blocks, using every machine standalone for the most part
Start and endpoint of the samples can’t be set manually, correct?
Not tried it that extensive yet!
