Found a new bug in 1.0.38 (already reported to TE):

  • Modify and save a preset to create snapshot
  • Go to mtp mode
  • Rename the snapshot folder to any other name
  • Leave mtp mode
  • Modify the same or another preset and create a snapshot
  • The snapshot will not be saved (because there is longer a snapshot folder available)

So you’ll loose all your edits.

I would expect that a new snapshot folder will created automatically after renaming the snapshot folder via mtp.

EDIT

Some more observations:

  • If then I enter mtp mode again, I see actually an empty snapshot folder - but without any content. So my edits are still lost.
  • Although I can see the snapshot folder in mtp mode, it does not appear in the XY’s preset browser.

Agreed, it has a wonderful feel.

I really really really would love a way to switch clips in the arranger in increments other than 1/16th notes. Especially since the encoders don’t always register when you turn a knob only 1 ‘click’.

I feel great about this as an XY user. Nice that they keep the pace!

Wow just realised you can link multiple tracks to one track. So you could have two patterns playing polyrhythmically but triggering one synth track which has its own automations etc…

Explain!?

Just link any track to another track, then link another track to that same track. I linked two drum tracks to a synth track and it creates an interesting percussive synth layer

My apologies, how do you link a sequencer(?) track to multiple instrument tracks?

Hold down the button for the source track and press another track button while holding. Do the same to unlink

Damn, learn something new every day.

Can anyone hear NUDGE actually changing the micro timing? I have quite a few sequencers where you can gently nudge a note ahead or drag the beat, but I swear nudging is doing nothing on the OP-XY. In fact, as a test I assigned the same percussive “ticktock” sample to the same step on 2 separate tracks (simultaneous) and NUDGED one max behind and nudges the other max forward (to the right) and they still trigger at the exact same time.

If the Nudge feature on the OP-XY is subtle, I’ff go as far as to say it’s humanly imperceptible. And I feel I know what to expect with microtiming

Anyone?

do you have quantization turned down?

OMG, SonWu. Did I just overlook this? Thanks I’ll give that a whirl but I’ll guarantee that’s it.

[edit: Yep, quantize was overriding the micro timing “nudge”]

It happens…many menus on this little groovebox

I would prefer quantize to be off, or at least lower, by default. It often screws with my deliberately off-beat notes.

You can set all this up easily by creating your own statter template. I have one called #base, I go onto this on the project screen and duplicate it, then rename the new project, easy. I have everything setup the way I want each time.

Agree, liked how the opz had it. Also wish the bar page was toggle on/off by default as it’s a bit fiddly having to hold it and turn the knobs with both hands. You usually only ever need to press it with the intention of changing something.
