Gain doesn’t work on resampling master. Only a problem on mine? On all other inputs it goes to +20, but on main it won’t move from +0?
It’s an excellent sampler.
Not sure what “just a sketch pad” means. It has two synths, Ableton-quality fx, and it is just about the quickest sampler I have used, even beating Koala in some ways. If that can’t get you unique sounds, I’m not sure what can.
Plus, who needs unique sounds anyway? It’s more about what you do with them. And the Move lets you do a lot, really fast and easy.
I look forward to the move getting better usb audio I/O so I can pair it with the OP-XY.

It sounds great, ive had my eye on it.
By sketchpad i meant that the way they market it is that it’s great for starting projects on that you intend to finish in Live because it ports projects over perfectly, but that you could only get so far in using it because it lacks the granular detail you can add in a DAW. The OP-XY by contrast seems like a fully-fledged standalone, like you do everything in it, add loads of detail (if you wanted to).

Biggest downside of the Move is no real song mode unless you want to manually trigger scene. I have a feeling Ableton will add this eventually though, it’s one of the biggest requests for Move. Slick device though, more powerful than a lot of people think.

Not a problem on yours–you’re only able to adjust the gain on the Line, Mic, and Headset inputs, not on the USB or Main inputs.
They use a similar logic on the TP-7 (no gain for digital inputs), so I don’t think that one will change.
OP-XY Step Components Part 2 here:
Key points:
- Delay a track in a pattern by filling the first page/bar with Pulse or Hold and adding a Jump 1 to the end of the second page
- Stop a track with Jump 8
- You can combine Pulse and Hold to try out variations of the same chord progression
- Pulse and Hold has the same weird logic as OP-Z–i.e., it works differently if Pulse is a multiple of Hold
- Adjacent steps with Jump 5, 6, and 7 can bounce between each other and randomize the order of the steps

Thank you. Just weird it isn’t removed in the interface/UI then, if you can’t adjust it.
Compared to the XY, the move is definitely way more limited in terms of making whole songs. But I prefer to finish them in Live anyway.
Getting XY songs into Live isn’t as annoying as I thought it would be though. Loops translate well to the session view.

Some pertinent info for anyone wanting to use their OP-XY online outside of an original creation or performance such as talking about it and playing original TE samples in front of the camera (copyright stuff). Legal details at 6:50.
Edit: I should add that I don’t vouch for his perspective and I don’t agree with everything he’s saying. It just shocked me and the factual part seems relevant here.

Apparently the copy right issue was with him using their promotional video in his own video. Not the samples on the device.

I’m not sure all the details abut that video takedown are available and it’s not the point I’m focusing on. Let’s see if TE updates their terms of service or if owners need to be cautious to mute their devices in front of a camera when not performing.
What would be the best way to rig up XY with a usb midi controller (nanokontrol) and also connecting via usb c to an iPhone for recording audio with midi sync? Assuming a hub, but would it still connect to the phone ok?
I’ve not tried with the XY, but with the OP-1 Field I’ve used a hub and multiple devices. It was an Anker USB-C hub with a port for USB power in too. Connected the M8, a Keystep 37 as well as a Microfreak to the OP-1.
I’m pretty sure the XY should work similarly.

Hey all does the XY have a aux in so if you wanted to connect a guitar pedal? I’m pretty sure it doesn’t but can’t seem to find it in the manual.
