Nice! I’m a heavy G2 (and G1) user myself and really looking forward to test this!

Small update of the development, all basic stuff that is very important for the overal feel and workability:

  • USB: refactured so it is now much much faster! param changes from G2 reflects immediatly in the editor.
  • USB: connecting, disconnecting now stable. Auto connects when editor starts.
  • USB: unplug and replug usb-cable automatically connects again with editor.
  • File handling improved: loading, saving all works as expected with normal UX flow and key-commands
  • Key commands for slot, variation, area switching, and rightpane selecting.
  • A lot more module components are rendered. Still a lot of work to do here.
  • And a lot of small UX improvements

Some things that needs to be done before others can test:

  • More editing options implemented
  • More modules/components rendering
  • Editing Patch/Performance settings

So now off for a few days

I will prepare my G2X and drop some coins for this project… after my MacBook returns from repair.

Thank you, Burpy, for doing this! :pray:t2::raised_hands:t2::heart:

@Burpy Perhaps Reverb.com would invest you with some development funds to increase the price (and their cut) for resales of Nord Modulars? They take circa 8.2% and the G2X seems to be going for $3K there currently. Other models are also regularly over $2K, although mini-models are less, and the price is no doubt fading due to lack of software-support.
Updated editing software would boost prices!

I was not aware of this philosophy and personally find it absolutely disgusting.

Regardless the philosophy behind reverb.com (and others) and increasing values of G2’s (which i don’t care). I will focus my time on what i do best: developing, instead of very uncertain undertakings. In the meantime, everyone who’d like to contribute in a way that saves me time and or backs up development is very welcome.

Very small dev update: I’ve reached a state with rendering of the modules that i feel is ok for now. A lot of graphs and graphics are working. Not all, but nothing that keeps you from editing. Now busy with finetuning editing modules/cables.

And a dev update for this weekends work:

  • Led’s update
  • VU meters update
  • Cycles/Mem resources update
  • Patch level / mute can be changed (from editor & G2)
  • More rendering of types of text displays in modules (midi notes, chan, delay time, etc)
  • A lot of code refacturing / small performance improvements

Busy with some more USB comm improvements. Perf mode switching. And more refacturing. But coming closer to the point of a minimal working editor.

Hey, good luck on your editor, it looks cool!

I have a question about what was stated in the GitHub README.

The original editor by Clavia does not work on macOS.

Would you please clarify? Do you mean that the editor won’t run on current macOS hardware, or the editor might run, but is unable to communicate with Nord Modular G2 hardware, or perhaps both?

A few months ago I installed the original Nord Modular G2 Editor (Windows legacy) on macOS 26.5 via Wine 11.0 it actually worked and is up and running.

But that’s the thing. I’ve got the editor ā€˜working’ but I don’t have a Nord Modular G2 to test it out with.

Do you think it might work if I had one?
