Thanks I just found this video, hopefully will be able to get working from this
Google notebooklm. Download the manual for the live 3 and upload it on there. It’s like a ChatGPT thing that references documents so you can just ask it anything and it will give you info and point to places in the manual explaining it. It can make videos explaining stuff and flow charts and tons of shit. it is AI so if something is off just ask here but I personally haven’t had it give me false information once yet. It will stop you having to read a giant manual and having to ask a ton of questions online. It can give quite long answers sometimes so you may occasionally have to tell it to give you the short version. I’ve also added the manual for MPC software. Also the octatrack manual and old MPCs so I can ask it to find equivalent features for things im used to. had me up and running in no time
Might give this a try👌
Just checked it out, I guess I was not so lucky ![]()
I am considering getting a behringer fcb1010 midi foot controller for my keys 61, so I can switch effects on and off and control macros with the pedals while playing. First simple question for notebooklm:
“Can I toggle effects on and off with a midi controller?”
Yes, you can toggle effects on and off using a MIDI controller by utilizing the MIDI assignment features of the operating system.
The sources describe two primary methods for assigning external MIDI controls to parameters, both of which support a toggle function:
1. MIDI Learn Mode:
2. Q-Link Edit Macro Assignments:
◦ You can create macro assignments in Q-Link Edit mode, which can be controlled by external MIDI devices
2 is not possible - I just posted a workaround for that a couple of posts above. Guess I was unlucky with my first search, as most notebooklm users here seem to be happy with the results!
Yea prob just unlucky they aren’t perfect. I said can you turn effects in and off with a midi controller and mine said this, which is accurate as far as I know
Yes, you can turn effects on and off using an external MIDI controller on the MPC Live III.
- You use the MIDI Learn function to assign your external MIDI controller to specific project parameters.
- The parameters you can control include Insert effects parameters for tracks, returns, submixes, and main outputs.
- When setting up the assignment, you can choose the controller message type as a Toggle Button, which will activate or deactivate the effect when the button is pressed.
- For Drum Tracks, you can even control the
Insert Enable 1–4parameters for a pad using a learned macro control.
not sure if the macro bit is accurate as I haven’t messed with them yet, can you link your post with the workaround?
Just scroll up 19h. You can assign macros to qlinks, lfos, env follower, XY-pad and touch strip, but cannot control those over midi AFAIK.
That’s why a lot of people are hoping akai will release an external device with 16 qlinks. Or allow midi control of the qlinks, or another integration of midi learn and qlink.
I was looking for a way to assign a macro to a foot pedal, so I can play with two hands and modulate fx, and came up with this: expression pedal controls the volume of a muted track that is the source for an env follower. So the pedal changes the volume and through the env follower modulates the macro. You can do the same with a midi pedal or any midi control of the volume. Or with a simple volume pedal on an external drone synth on an audio input of the mpc.
Additional discounts on the the air plugin site, 20% off if you buy 3 items… 10% for two… ![]()
Of course they do extra discounts right after I buy Iona lol. Awesome deal tho!
Yeah I spent 150 quid at the start of the sale too, probably spend a bit more now ![]()
man I think the only one I don’t have at this point is “ring the alarm”
The guy Daddy Long Les that made this video has a tutorial series on the L3 made from a new Akai MPC users. He was a Elektron user & has tutorial on those devices. He starts with every basics. He has about 20 demos for the series currently.
Akai actually has some well made videos on YouTube. Jae Freshmen covers a lot stuff. Some of artists advice I disagree with, but his info on how to use the MPC is on point. Also many old Force video are still relevant for the MPC users as most of what new about MPC 3.0 was on the Force years ago.
I’ve been getting way more crashes on Force 3.5 & 3.6 then ever. So it may be a OS thing.
Anyone got Ableton Move to sync and send audio to the MPC3?
Pretty sure you’ll need to be on the most recent beta release for Move to get MIDI I/O over Move’s USB-C port. You’ll also need to have Move connected to your Live 3’s USB-A port. Other than that, it’s a matter of switching the audio interface and selecting/enabling the proper Move midi port on your MPC (pretty sure it’s the one labeled “standalone”).
Anyone on MPC One Plus used a USB to Ethernet cable to Cotrol Live? the MPC One has no Ethernet Port but Wifi which suck bad for Midi Connection
Daddy Long Les is the GOAT, thanks to his tutorial I understood the M8. He’s a great teacher.
Fyi turning Bluetooth off seems to have fixed the crashes i was getting. Will report the bug.
That’s good to know. My Bluetooth is off & I had a crash last session not too long ago.
Bummer the super warp is super broken. It was a selling point to me and I can’t even use it as it is!
