MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 4)

@djadonis206 bright it up and other users and myself tested it and confirmed it’s the same on Gen1 devices as well and they reported it to akai so it’s known to us and I imagine at least known to some at akai as well :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Super and elastique are meant to have the better quality though so I recommend the flattening using elastique for grid tight, high q stuff.

Known to us and Akai, yes.

Acknowledged by Akai? Don’t know.

But yea, it’s an issue and Phillip gave the work around to get the beats tight.

Hopefully it gets fixed :+1:t4:

I found a fix for qlink control with a midi controller.

I wanted to control the fx on an audio track with my rhodes with an expression pedal, so came up with this idea.
Make a new track with a constant sound source (drone). Assign output to 3/4 (or whatever output is not connected). Use this track as the source for the envelope follower and assign all the parameters you want. Now modulate the volume of this track with a foot pedal or whatever midi controller you like. Works pretty well!
I did it with an expression pedal, so had to use fabric, as it is the only plugin I found that makes use of the expression pedal for volume. But a midi control of the volume of the muted track will do the same.

You can of course add volume modulation (Tremelo) to the ‘control track’ for extra complexity.
This technique is not ideal for adding 16 qlinks with a midi controller, but it should be possible.

Simple question-can I use L3 as a soundcard using normal old usb?have not upgraded yet to usb c unfortunately ((

I feel so dumb using the Mpc L3 I have no idea how to use things or get it to do what I need. I know ableton and elektron but this thing is baffling me a bit.

What is best YouTube channel to watch to get me started? I have no idea what’s going on with the browser the little folders they don’t have labels even

you’ll be up and running in no time, mpc 3 peeps please let me know if this doesn’t apply for the mpc 3 browser

A lot of tutorials are for people that have never made music at all and are so slow it’s unwatchable or outdated with older versions that make it more confusing :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Seems I can use a usb c adpter. Will this give me some of the digital tracking functionality? To old iPad Pro ot Ableton?Back and forth?thanx

I think the L3’s USB audio should work even if your computer uses a USB-A port. If it’s a blue USB 3 port, it should be fine. (It will probably work with USB 2 as well.)

I don’t use MPC3 yet, but I think the browser probably works the same way so any Live 2 videos on the browser should help… if i’m mistaken someone will point it out

Do ppl get many crashes? I jad several today on my Live 3 which said ‘Internal error’. It happened first when i tried to hook up my bluetooth querty keyboard. Repeated it and same crash happened. And then a second crash on same project when i tried to erase notes on a particular track. Only thing i can think of is an issue witj bluetooth enabled.

Does anyone know if Akai grants some kind of discout if you already own MPC instrument and effects plugins but buy the L3? Because you would get some free licenses for several plugins and already own them.

does anyone know DO i need drivers on my PC to sample from my computer via usb C? its not showing up in ableton live as a source

You need to use it as the interface in lives preferences… and yeah if you haven’t already done it, the drivers should be available to install via the in music software centre :+1:

It’s not showing up in live, I haven’t downloaded anything from in music I just updated the mpc via wifi

I did not need any drivers to connect my Live 3 Drives with my Computer (WIN10). Should you need any drivers, you will find them in th inMusic Software Center.

In Live 3 you only get the message, that you are in controller mode. All drives should then show up on you PC.

This might help…
