MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 3)

Wow, I cannot believe that! That is super basic! Geez.

Thanks for responding. I really am surprised.

I’d err on the side of Hanlon’s razor for that one.

3.x brought a lot of new stuff and they’re fixing stuff as they go, all the while probably working on new features in parallel for 3.5 and beyond (e.g. MIDI clips and/or clip matrix would be very welcome, as already discussed).

I’m 100% with @papertiger on this one.

Foundational aspects of any OS (i.e. basic MIDI spec, discrepancies in the GUI, functions directly related to the hardware, longstanding bugs, etc.) should always take precedence over new features.

Cheers!

I’m not talking so much about the content of his post, more about the attitude that’s being conveyed…

The issue being discussed is not really a bug that is breaking stuff or prevents anyone from working.

It’s just an inconvenience, which of course should be fixed.

Also, what’s ā€œsuper basicā€ very much depends on the user and their workflow. For instance, I never needed to ā€œadd an effect to the input bus on the Sampler pageā€.

If it makes you feel better, that’s how it is on the Force. Don’t know why & yes, we complained about it too & now unfortunately you MPC dudes gotta deal with that crap.

It’s has to be something about adding Qlinks in the sample page that caused problems for that inconvenience to be carried over to MPC3. I don’t think Akai ever acknowledged this issue on the Force. Hopefully you guys can get them to add it, since yall are their favorite.

Thanks. What is so frustrating is that it worked fine on MPC OS 2, but then again, so did a lot of things.

Disappointing to still encounter issues like this on the ā€œreleaseā€ version.

As per Akai’s email that just went out:

MPC3 Desktop Software will enter public beta in May, giving users an early look at its powerful new capabilities.

and

• Force users can look forward to a major update entering Private Beta this month, integrating MPC features into the platform—one of the most highly requested enhancements from the community.

The MRNC is working overtime!
Still waiting on that email, but this is amazing for news both the MPC & Force!
We ā€œAll in Together Nowā€ like Wu-Tang!
You made my day & I hope is well too. Thanks.

This is very good news!

People moan so much but will say again that very few companies are supporting hardware for free as well as Akai. They’re close to a gold standard.

Very excited to see what the new Desktop software brings and how much of a change it is.

I never got any email, yet I’m signed up for Akai’s newsletters and updates. Can one of you that got this alleged email post a screen shot?

Me neither unless going out in batches.

Cool news though!

I mean it’s 100% fake news until someone posts a screenshot or some sort of concrete proof, IMHO.
