MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 1)

Just to be sure: USB to MIDI (still) only works for MIDI in and not out? I‘m still waiting for the day when I can just plug in my iPad to the MPC and have all those fantastic synths ready to go without any special cables or hubs/interfaces.

Lol, shouldn’t have traded yours in for the force!

I am also really angry about this update cuz now I am going to have to search heaven and earth to find an MPC one. Man those are hard to come by!

I considered trading my MPC live for the Force until I realized the Force has way less i/o.

no, i think it works both way now. As long as the usb machine is class compliant.

I hope myself that it would the case with bluetooth midi too, but i can not find information on this right now

If that´s the case then halleluja! Playing the waiting game now until the release…

And I stand corrected, the TubeDigga video shows the multitimbral MIDI feature, I just didn´t get the impression from the official AKAi video because it wasn´t really shown like that (which is odd since this has been probably the most requested feature).

I can’t believe the day has finally come. We’ve been asking for multi timbral since day one and now years later it’s finally here. Praise be the heavens and earth!!! I can finally set up my studio how I always intended. :joy:

This update will make a Toraiz Squid/MPC combo very powerful.

Still no renaming the Q-Links when assigning your hardware synths midi cc’s? Already sent a request to support about this, seems still not implemented in 2.8

Not for this one unfortunately

It’s still a very good update. This mean I can plug in my Overhub packed synths via USB? Seems so

if your synths are class compliant, that should be ok

Just got confirmation bluetooth over midi works both way now too, so even better for an ipad, don’t need a usb cable if app supports bluetooth midi and if latency is ok.

I´ll be damned. The mobile rig game has just been upped several levels… can´t wait to test this.

Awesome. Thank you Akai! Can’t wait to try it out. The workflow improvements are sincerely appreciated.

Is it clear whether or not we can have multitimbral midi in with a 5 pin midi cable? The video mentions usb a lot, but no mention of midi din. Hoping functionality is identical with both.

Slightly OT but just in case folks don´t know about this one:

Let´s you create drum kits super easy, just converted my Maschine expansions in about a minute into MPC drum programs. Also does Beatmaker (iOS), Ableton Live etc. and generates random Kits out of everyone´s countless unsorted one shot samples. Very useful.
