Everyone has their own take on how to introduce a synth . I personally donāt watch loopop because I canāt fathom someone encouragiong their society to kill children in an occupied area where they have no where to go. I can only hope he doesnāt share the sentiments with a depraved society, but regardless I wontā watch his and will watch others
it actually sounds better than i thought it would ā the wavefolding and feedback send it to another dimension
messenger would be an insta-buy if it featured a duophonic mode and museās diffusion delay
I donāt get the āoh another 2 OSC mono synth from Moogā criticism. The depth of sequencer, wavefolding, bass compensation resonance, feedback, modulation options - this is something 99% of āanother 2 oscā synths on the market donāt have bundled in one package, at not too steep price too (considering Moog and everything bundled).
This looks like killer synth for all indie / synth incorporating bands - range of sounds, form factor, accessibility of controls etc. Would be great if it came in desktop version though.
Iām not so keen on the design, it looks ok-ish, but lacks that classic Moog factor, something is just off for me.
Iām getting old but honestly that Andertons sales guy is the most annoying ,goofy reviewer Iāve ever seen ,he can play though
What annoys me the most though is the fact he is so irritating yet nobody ever mentions it
I really like this thing but⦠That wavefolder had got to be the worst sounding one I have ever heard⦠it just sounds like a nasely pulse width⦠Do all the moog wavefolders sound that bad? Like on the Mavis and whatever else has one from Moog?
The bottom of the thing is cheap plastic⦠Cry⦠This doesnāt feel like Moogā¦
⬠849 at Thomann sale. Available in 5-7 weeks.
This synth is pretty much exactly what Iāve wanted from Moog. Iām not interested in semi modular and the phatty format doesnāt appeal to me with features buried under key combos. If this thing sounds right in person, Iām in.
The look has a novation vibe for sure but I donāt think itās as bad as people are making it out to be.
how do you know what the bottom of the thing is made of?
is plastic the replacement for the particle board bottoms (and end cheeks) that synths of the 70ās/80ās had?
Top and rear are metal, sides and bottom are plastic. Is it cheap plastic, I donāt think so.
I feel like the wave folding just being a triangle being folded in the wave shaper section is kind of disappointing when they are touting wave folding as a feature⦠like itās still nice that it is there but if they had like implemented a wavefolder that you could inject into pre or post filter it would have been an amazing feature⦠and actual proper wave folding
+1. One knob for wavefolder amount, one knob for waveshape already gives you soo much to play with. Now add modulation, the filter and a pre/post switch for the waveshaper and this thing would have been soo much more flexible.
I know, flexibility doesnāt necessarily have to be the goal in a synth, but feels like this would have made Messenger a much more interesting synth.
Going to add my 20 pence.
Was about to buy a sub 25 at the reduced Ā£699 price a few days ago but didnāt really like the shape of it so dithered. This does look like a sequential rip off visually but Iām ok with that. I think I might be their target audience. It looks a bit like a modern day version of the Rogue.
Itās a Moog Bass Station II
I get your point but it is still a Moog after all. a wave folded triangle as one of your wave shapes is still quite cool to have within this format, and does add timbres that wouldnāt otherwise be available.
Wow didnāt even realize this is a Mono synth until reading this thread.
1k for a mono in 2025 is kinda wild, if you buy it hope itās a blast!
Why should they?
In a world or spec sheet readouts and monotone delivery I see Jack as the antidote to influencer nonsense. More Jack all round, in my opinion.
You think thatās the right choice? For some reason I was thinking curry sauce. Good I just bought a tube of red&whiteā¦
But Iāll keep my word. Iāll post a short video or photo of me eating a Monologue.
Re: The world doesnāt need another 2 osc mono synth:
And as much as I like to see innovative products, I donāt see it as a bad thing when a company sticks to what they are used to doing and what they can do well. Also, you guys probably can relate to how small things can be in the way, like thereās a button you frequently have to use just out of reach or something like that.
Thereās always something that can be improved and a boring ass 2 osc synth can be so much more fun than the newest sampling drum machine with granular that comes with a built in roadmap to fix bugs for the next two years.
Edit: Typo
You really know how jazz up a Monologue!
Wrong thread, buddy:
