Max for Live devices that work with Push 3 Standalone

I was just thinking about adjusting my current M4L projects and then testing them when there’s a 12.3 trial. but yeah that’s probably nonsense.

I think you can use a different version of max to the bundled one by downloading it then going to the file and folder menu and selecting it. And I also think that this works even if you don’t have a full max license. But don’t quote me on this, I seem to remember doing it a long time ago but I think it was two versions of Max 8, also it ended up getting quite messy in the end I think and I have just stuck with the bundled version since.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if someone could assist me with a problem. I want to be able to use a midi envelope to modulate the bpm while running the step sequencer in standalone. i have Elisabeth Homeland’s midi envelope but not sure how to map it to either the bpm or the step sequencer timing/progression. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

I haven’t tried this. Posting for visibility.

Yeah looks intriguing

I’d have to try it, I nearly bought it about 6 months ago, but I’ve not seen anything about it that looks fun. It looks nicely designed, but I wonder whether they’re trying to do too much with it.

Love to hear opinions from people using MidiSEQ though.

How hard would it be to make a max device that sits in a drum rack pad and records a clip when that pad is clicked? I would be willing to have a crack at it if its not impossible for a noob with basic programming skills

New modulation tool available:

Short demo video here:

Works on Push standalone, but needs to be preconfigured in Ableton.

Hi all, I’m Ian, the dev behind ijo audio. just wanted to add my recent real-time granular device, Celestine, to this thread. I released it a few weeks ago and since then, have been working with several Elektronauts forum members who’ve been beta testing the first update, which brings full Push 2/3/Standalone support.

It takes advantage of the new Push features added in Live 12.3, specifically finally being able to assign the row of buttons below the dials on the Push to control toggles on a M4L device. I always thought it was silly to have to dedicate an entire dial to control a parameter between simply OFF and ON. I also went a bit further with the mappings, showing and hiding certain dials based on the current context of the device.

Anyway, if you have any questions or feature requests, I try to be very responsive to this stuff.

I’ve just posted a short video showing me walk through all the Push controls here: https://youtu.be/i6L1w0N-V-I

And I’ve got a long form walkthrough of the entire device here: https://youtu.be/3q-o772IYQY

Cheer and happy winter to you all!

Congrats with the 2.1 release, Ian. Glad I could help.

Celestine is spectacular if you like granular/ambient music. Watch the videos, you will be impressed.

Thanks Peter, for all your help!

Also, I should mention that I created a Winter Textures bundle which features Celetine, as well as a “build your own bundle” coupon code if anyone is interested. You can find the codes here:

I was playing with Celestine on my Push 3 over the weekend. The device actually gave me goosebumps when I used it to capture the audio out of three synth devices being triggered by Sting 2.
The soundscape I was able to produce using Celestine, was mind blowing.
A truly inspirational device.

Celestine is probably what I was looking for when I took a very brief modular plunge chasing Clouds and finding very dense fog. I like Celestine a lot and it’s fun to feel what the sound is made into.

anyone know of a device like iftah’s “variations” that works well on p3 standalone?
variations is almost perfect, but as of now there’s no way to create / edit / organize states in standalone.

Still a work in progress but I’ve developed a device (PushScenes) that works on P3SA using the matrix to capture scenes, it allows you to transition smoothly between scenes (quantised to beats/ bars, linear or ramped, shown visually on the push using the scenes buttons to help with timing ).

It allows you to capture state of devices, mixer/ chain mixer, drum pad mutes and what tracks/ slots are playing.

Combined with push’s X-Y layout (or using the on device x-y pad) it can be set to transition between 4 scenes (which you select by clicking the 4 corners and a scene).

If there’s interest from anyone let me know, it may give me the push to finish it off.
