Max for Live devices that work with Push 3 Standalone

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVQoKcsRIqg looks cool

very curious about midiseq 2 - if anyone tries it on p3sa can you speak to cpu load?

also, i see morphing mentioned but can’t find a demo or user manual that explains how it’s implemented.

I’m interested in a comparison between the midiseq 2 and the Push Euclidean sequencer by-mark-towers.

Yes exactly what I’m wondering. Or like how smoothly it’s running on SA in general. My impression with other devices of some depth is that it’s quite taxing on the system and or doesn’t really run super smoothly. Only exception so far that I’ve experienced is Dyad which runs great

fyi some discussion with the developer happing over here:

I’ve created a new tool to show you the CPU usage on your Push 3 SA. The track will be renamed to the CPU usage in real time.

That’s very cool

What an amazing device

Does anyone have an opinion on the best generative sequencer to be used on the Push? My aim is to make my Push 3 feel as much like a hardware sequencer as possible, to save me buying a Torso T-1 or an Oxi one.
The ones that I can think of, off the top of my head would be; midiseq 2.0, mdd snake, sting 2.0, PUSH:EUCLIDEAN MODE BY MARK TOWERS.
Any opinions greatly received.

Novel musics Seed bundle is pretty good

I will throw a wrench in those cogs, and tell you that imho the perfect combo is an external sequencer and a Push 3  I use mine with T-1, use Dyad or Sting takeover mode on the P3 to sequence one thing, and use T-1 to sequence other stuff, this is imho the best

Currently on this quest. In truth I’ve not found ā€œitā€ yet.

While I don’t use the Circuits any more - I wanted to try building like a Circuit Rhythm Pro template in Push. Seeds by Novel music goes a long way to using the pads in a fun and creative way (and has some generative features), but it is different and very much its own thing. Sting is fun (as always) and Mark Towers thing looks fun (not bought that one though.) Come to think of it, it is kinda strange how only recently we’re seeing sequencers/devices take advantage of the pad grid a lot more, but the majority are still a mouse/keys workflow. And obviously the more devices, the more disjointed the whole thing feels. For a keys/mouse only approach I tend to like Meridian by ijo.

Having tried a few things, I’m wondering if that the ease/speed of sequencing may need to come from either a) a port of something like the Circuit Sequencer that doesn’t exist yet, or b) an external sequencer.

Have considered the likes of Oxi and Torso, also but a bit unsure if the price is right. Could see myself getting a LPPmk4 when it drops.

Are there rumours about a Launchpad Pro MK4 then?

No direct rumours. But Novation has been updating their hardware (Launchkey mk3 > mk4, Launchcontrol XL3 etc.) Of course this is no guarantee that a LPP is on the horizon, but since they previously updated all the Launch devices to mk3, I’m just banking they’ll do an update.

Funnily enough, I’m a Circuits user too and even though I’m not making new music on them (I still have a ton of stuff I need to get off them and into Ableton), the immediacy of that workflow has really stuck with me too. I guess that is why I’m also looking for something like you are too.

From the videos I’ve watched on the Torso T-1 though, it seems like one of these babies could give me that Circuit feeling.:joy:

Hi Music People.

Does anyone know a Note Latch M4L device that works on Push3SA?

To jam and drone away Iā€˜d love to trigger notes and make them stay without creating a clip.
Or there might be a workaround Iā€˜m not aware off?

Tusend dank

@Dibek asked can drone notes be hold and relased at once by M4L? You could use [xnoteout], see scheme, and this one doesn’t care if a note is already opened when reopened (beware there are synths that dont like that) - will flush all open when Ableton stopped or you’d click… (FIFO means first in first out)

iĀ“d uses stripnote to get rid of note offĀ“s and bag to collect the ā€œheldā€ notes. thereĀ“s a patch in the helpfiles that pretty much does this and send note offĀ“s out when it gets a bang. IĀ“m currently at work so i canĀ“t really give it a try.

Update

MidiDrone.amxd (6.3 KB)

This one holds any note on the track it is on, notes are held until either you hit stop on the transport or the ā€œstop droneā€ button on the device. It should work on the Push 3 SA, iĀ“m currently on the road so i canĀ“t test it myself.
