This was fast. SonicState are up with a bunch of YT videos.

I’ll put this one up. You’ve probably seen this thing before ( earlier post ) but it’s moved along and is available, but also difficult to get because it is in such demand. It is the mechanical magnetic resonance device Ferrous from Landscape.

I will add another link to this post, although this artist is not at the show, they were the originator collaborator for the Ferrous. Victoria Shen – EVICSHEN. Check out some of the sound and exotic musical instrument creations there. A wide range of sound art, really creative, and all over the map.

Bristol has become a real dosspit. Walked through there recently and so many homeless people on streets. Huge drug problem. But there is a younger music demographic with quite a few venues and live acts. A lot of uk towns are becoming like this tbf. But Bristol is particularly in decline.

Ha

It’s always been grungy and fairly edgy, that’s part of the package. Drugs too. I don’t live in the area anymore, but yeah, when I’m back I have noticed homelessness being a lot more visible these days. But that’s not just a Bristol problem

Also being discussed here

I had a play with it yesterday and it’s amazing. It was so positive to hear Eric say that they’d built 1000 of them for orders which is so encouraging in a climate where many manufacturers mentioned lower sales in the last year.

I really like that the Ferrous is so open to use and inspiration for the musian / sound creator. I got wondering “ifs” just watching the video, let alone having one in my hand.

I also must say they or anyone into DIY creation should look at some of the other things EVICSHEN is doing. For instance multiple needles on vinyl mixed, though I have no idea how to attach them to fingernails !

The Landscape HC-TT was also inspiring me just yesterday, and i posted about that.

This thing looks super.

And Toadstool Tech’s new Ectocore.

This will be familiar to those who have been readers in the Zeptocore thread.

I also like the Eurorack Keytar strap. Racktar ???

SonicState spoke to Urs of u-he with CVilization playing in oscillator mode and didn’t ask him when the alternate firmware was going to be released :man_facepalming:

Had a blast there this afternoon but left early (around 4pm) as exhausted from a night in London.

I had a go of each of these and they are beauties , particularly Steampipe

This was interesting, creating fills and modulations of sequences using touch screen. Modulating ratchets and cv

Dubby from Componental

Totally flexible, quad in - quad out box and some easy to use controls, for whatever you configure it to be with their algorithms.

Not sure if the processor, memory and software components will let you go as far as the disting NT or the MetaModule, but regardless this could be useful in all sorts of ways, and should only improve as it is further developed.
