M8 Tracker

Hello guys,

I’ve been using M8 Headless with the web display for a bit and it has worked perfectly fine up until now. I suddenly only have audio on my right headphone. I tried reconnecting and checked if it was only one project but it seemed to be systemwide. I updated the firmware and everything, but nothing changed. Has this happened to anyone here, or does anyone have an idea what I could do? Can I somehow remove all the M8 Headless Software from my Teensy and then do a clean new install?

Thanks in advance, cheers

What hardware platform do you use? Does the left output work in everything else installed on it?

Yes I was using Web Display with my Teensy 4.1 on my Windows Laptop and it worked for a month or so until yesterday it suddenly stopped working on my left headphone.

Normal Audio works on my Laptop as stereo.

I read in Discord that the pre-order will close soon. So I had to order asap.

Does the NTS-1 act as a midi host? Korg docs suggest that the TRS on the NTS-1 only does midi in, not out, and M8 requires a host for usb midi.

I have been able to get a Reface CS and an M:S to work.

I use USB MIDI only and the NTS-1 does send MIDI CCs out via USB. The Anbernic RG351 I use is a MIDI host. MIDI out works flawlessly, but can’t send MIDI in to the device / M8. Have also tried a Reface CP so I know it’s not just the NTS-1.

Have you tried the ‘new home’ of the Web Display (blessed by Trash80 himself)?

I’m going on holiday flying with Ryanair (UK to Greece) and was just planning on sticking my M8 in my hand luggage.
Then my wife said they might not accept this? now its got me thinking about lithium batteries etc.
Has anybody else put their M8 in hand luggage?, not sure I want to put pack it in my suitcase as the case might go missing.
This holiday seemed like the ideal scenario to use the M8 not I’m not sure if I cant take it.

I flew with my M8 in hand luggage when I went from Edinburgh to Dublin (Aer Lingus) to Chicago (Delta) to Philly (AA I think) to Heathrow (Delta) and then back to Edinburgh (BA). Zero issues. That was in October.

You do hear of some horror stories - but feel super confident you’ll be fine

You can bring laptop too, I don’t think that should be a problem.

I think they only object to lithium batteries that aren’t installed in a device. Otherwise they would have no passengers seeing as everyone and his dog has an iPhone with non-removable lithium cells in them permanently attached to their hand.

Am in Canada, but travel with my M8 all the time and never even had a security agent ask me anything about it. Wouldn’t feel as confident with a modular synth

We’re getting slightly off topic but… Which headphones do you use in the plane with your M8?

I was using the Etymotic earbuds, but they started crapping out. Crazy for something so expensive. Lately I’ve been using full size KRK headphones and am pleased. Can’t remember the model, but they’re only like $170USD

I need noise cancelling, so my Sony WH-1000XM4 phones do the trick. I’ve tried with standard Etymotic in-ears but even with memory foam tips they don’t keep the plane noise out.
