M-vave fm-1

Can it also send cc?

Quick test over usb midi says no.
But the more pertinent question is why would you want to?

Thanks for checking, would be great to use it as a portable midi controller thats runs on battery. Its only 4 encoders, but it still will be usefull when also having a chance to easily change the channels.

Ah ok, the keyboard is ok-ish but the 4 encoders are very tiny btu I guess could be useful. Maybe write to mvave support and ask for it, never know your luck.

True! Ive send them an email. Fingers crossed :crossed_fingers:

Fun little synth for that amount of money. In combination with the m8, its a nice combo. Onboard fx is not that good imo. But i use the ones from M8. Love playing with the edit mode to adjust the FM parameters to create some special sounds. I hope they will support the device more.

In the video, only the kick, snare and hihat are samples. The rest comes from the FM synth.

I love the timpani-esque sounds (at least that’s how it sounds as I’m doing the bad thing and listening through my tinny phone speakers) you’ve got going here. Excellent groove.

Of course If to compare to $$$ gear. At least they are “many” (not just a karaoke echo and 17th century delay…lay…lay) and they ARE much better than SMK-37’s FX, for sure.

Nice, I posted a demo a few days ago on YT with the picoTracker showing how the new v13 firmware allows using PC via midi:

If I’m understanding point 2 correctly then that addresses a big source of frustration I had with programming patches on the unit. Very promising. For a product as cheap as this I wouldn’t be surprised if there was no ongoing support at all, so it’s great to see they’re improving on it and responsive to feedback.

Received to the US after two weeks from ordering on AliExpress. Feels sturdier than it looks. Buttons and keyboard are a bit mushy though. All knobs are detented except volume.
All out of bananas for comparison

Playing around with Bluetooth connected to iPad and it receives audio from the iPad over Bluetooth. Didn’t realize it could do that.

With a few more updates it can be a very nice portable dexed hardware device. Still love it.
Ive send the team some feature requests in the last days.

Without the device at hand, I made an app to manage Sysex preset banks. Can anyone help verify if it’s working.

seems like most of the factory patches clip the internal dac when going over like 3 voices. anyone else have this issue? i can turn down each op but that’s pretty much the only fix i’ve found
