Im going to look for one soon (next month travelling). The fm-1 is smaller than the roland aira series.
How is the speaker? Enough to annoy friends and to play alone? Ordering this. Seems brilliant and good fun to use in bed.

And yes, my situation exactly. Traveling in a couple of weeks and have what I need for my P-6 and S-1, but need to find something to keep the FM-1 road-worthy.
Damn forgot to order a trs midi adapter. Do I need type a or b?
speaker is … OK. I mean I think for what you are asking for it will work. One thing that is annoying about it is that while it will turn off if you plug in headphones or some other output, if you just use the audio over USB there is no way in the FM-1’s very limited system to turn off the speaker. hopefully it will be addressed in a later firmware(just like adding all the CC info).
Don’t know about the midi adapter. I just used midi over USB.

Can you connect it to an android phone via usb and record it with Koala sampler?
