A silly low effort one to start it off:
Last time I did this was 2019 I think and it was a pretty fun exercise.

Sorry for the out-of-page listen (non Sound Cloud) but my bro and I signed up on Bandlab just for this and to keep it going for the month.
*Edited to include Soundcloud
It’s a monotonous (sorry) Strega Jam.
Great distorted feedback!
Well, this is my first and last Jamuary track. It is as I feared, an okay idea executed poorly, and I was running out of time in the day to upload.
Im at the point in production, where it isn’t easy to arrange, but I have a good enough ear to know when my shiz isn’t it.
I think I’m gonna chill on this.
jamuary 01: pattern chaining on analog keys w/microbrute and peavey sp feeding into AK input L/R, recorded straight through OB into (computer).
jamuary is very educational w/r/t the reality of how much time, energy, skill, dedication, and practice this can really take. a few hours on a weekend evening (see above) is really so short…
I’m going to try and use this years Jamuary as a chance to explore the Octatrack outside the live looping I normally use it for - I’ve been thinking about buying an SP404mk2, or MPC 1000 and want to first see if I can do what I want with the Octatrack to save me some money
I recorded this yesterday but fell asleep before I could upload it … Inspired by Octatrack realtime guitar processing challenge, a pickup machine layering (too much) guitar, with a couple of Flex tracks live resampling the audio, and a very basic beat underneath. Recorded into Zoom H6, then some mild mastering applied in Ableton. It felt like it took a lot longer than it should but I learnt a lot
Metropolix dual sequences, same note pool, lead running on normal clock, and bassline running on /8 clock so slower than the lead.
Day 2 - up and at it early today. Set myself a few ‘restrictions’ this jamuary - I want to upload a jam a day, but challenging myself to use a different bpm each time, spend no more than 20 mins prepping the loop and recording 1 take (well 1 each for instagram and YT at different lengths).
Also going to use the ‘prompts’ from the #Hardware_jams challenge. Today was using the notes from one chord… I think this was supposed to be a restriction, but 3 notes is more than enough for my simple mind!!
Well, here is my Day 2.
And this came out way better. Subharmonicom, DFAM, Mother32 and Matriarch.
Those Moog Maschines make the perfect/playable ‘jamuary’ type set up I think. Makes me wish I still had the SubH and the DFAM (must stop selling things!!)
I grabbed 10minutes in between playing snap with my 7y daughter and giving my 3y son marks out of 10 for his ninja warrior antics on the couch.
DFAM TR8s ‘TAKT and LXR02 … don’t get too close, you might loose an eye, or a face
Oh man this is a strong one!
Also, I’m in! I’m just going to post snippets on insta and leave the full songs for my weekly bandcamp posts. Here’s yesterday:

I’ll be back at some point after work with today’s.
Digitakt soloing through the Syntakt filter. Just a little jam.
Happy to have my sister in town for the holiday - we’ve wanted to create music together for a long time. We limited ourselves to 1:30 and spent less than a couple of hours. Enjoy!
2nd of Jan’s effort.
T-1, ARmk2, Rev2, P12 and a borrowed TB03.
What even is a jam? Here’s me forcing myself to take a couple of Syntakt patterns and turn them into a song-like thing. I’m hoping that my shitty knob twiddling makes this jammy enough for Jamuary.
