well, i contacted the developer today and offered him my Launchpad X and Launchpad Mini mk3 to work on their integration (we both live in Kyiv).
so i guess these two are going to be supported rather sooner than later.
i also want Mini support because it’s ideal for launching clips in live situation.
even Mini Mk2 is still totally usable as a clip launcher.
i also still use Pro Mk2 a lot — some of my DIY projects are closely tied with its SysEx lighting magic.
mk3 line made things simpler because they got custom modes.
never mind, i’m used to SysEx stuff because quite a few of my gear rely on them (Access Viruses, effect parameters of some older Roland machines, FB-01, Zoom MS series pedals, and so on)
any of you guys beta testing the macbook Au version of OlympiaNoise Patterning…
just curious what the hold up might be since it’s been a while the announcement was put out… understand these things take time, just curious?
I’ve got the beta but have had my head in ableton for the past month so haven’t really been testing it. But it seemed to be working well when I did give it a run out, both desktop and iOS - solved an longstanding issue I’d had with recording midi patterns out of the plugin in Logic a couple of versions back. Imagine it should be good to go pretty soon.
Bit frustrating that Ableton doesn’t support midi out from AU plugins. That’s pretty much my only complaint - Patterning is fantastic, one of my favourites on iOS. But I usually want to use it for sequencing and do sound generation elsewhere. It just occurred to me that it might be possible to wrap the plugin in Max to get around this, but unfortunately au3s don’t seem to be supported in Max either.
yeah man love patterning… Patterning, impc pro 2, and Samplr +beatscholar are my ios go to’s
for putting grooves together because you can abuse all of them in many different ways just add samples, and experiment til your hearts content not to mention time signature and bpm become putty… you can go far without feeling like you’re doing something esoteric in drambo etc… and most important… none of those apps feel like you’re using the ipad to me especially patterning and samplr two apps that I couldn’t imagine anywhere else but the ipad before but for some reason don’t carry that ipad after taste that one might not always be looking for sometime even if you’re on an ipad
official Groove Rider 2 manual is updated to current version (1.1.2), including new chapter about Launchpad integration.
(also confirming that currently only Launchpad Pro Mk3 is supported)
Thanks!
Just bought an LP Pro mk3 especially for GR2. So far I’m really impressed with how well it works, even after just a few mins.
Will read the manual and see how to use it with more purpose!
i did exactly the same.
i wanted LP Pro mk3 for quite a while as a secondary hardware sequencer — but that was not compelling enough to give myself money. however, GR2 integration did the trick instantly, and it’s worth it.
