as we know, great things are never perfect.
however, GR2 with Launchpad Pro Mk3 support came pretty close.
i just can’t stop playing with that.
actually, i ordered this LP Pro mainly for controlling GR2 — and it’s worth it.

Oh when did they add launchpad support?
Any likelihood of older launch pads working with this to your knowledge? I’ve got several OG launchpad pro mk2s…
Here’s the iOS store page with the features the LP can do - similar to the Force.
i have older Pro Mk2 too.
and X, and Mini Mk2, and Mini Mk3.
all of them are not supported at the moment.
but one can’t have too many Launchpads and/or too many hardware sequencers so i ordered this one since it’s 2in1.
Just tried it.
It’s brilliant!
Elevated something good to one of the best groovebox experiences full stop.
ha! i’ve spent two full days playing with this combo and still can’t get enough.
What are some of the big advantages of the setup? What are you doing and/or enjoying the most?
It makes it a very similar experience to using a circuit tracks except with access to loads of tracks and effects and pro level synths.
THIS.
moreover, iPad + Circuit tracks already were my to-go combo, so with Launchpad i instantly felt at home.
as for me, there are two biggest advantages.
one is triggering clips with physical pads – exactly what i wanted for playing live.
and another is step sequencer mode – it’s far more convenient than on-screen and makes editing faster.
Wow this does sound like what I always wanted from an ios music environment. Proper hardware/software integration
Interesting. I love using my OG Circuit and I love GR-2 as I feel its similar to the Circuit but without the restrictions. What I am looking for tho is more of a controller with knobs for live tweaking. You guys have an idea what I could use? I already have a Keystep 37, so knobs only would be perfect.
y’all are making me want to try GR2. i already have enough apps i don’t use enough and really like BAM, but still.
You could use a Korg NanoKontrol or a Novation LauchControl XL for knobs and sliders.
I see that the Launch Controls knobs are assigned to Send A/B and Pan, I guess I could midi map them to whatever I want?
I wish there was some video going into more detail regarding GR2 LP Pro integration. GR2 is good, but there are some issues I’m having with how UI works for live jamming and I wonder if LP Pro would solve them. It’s kind of expensive to buy it just for trying it out.
Damn I can’t wait for Drambo to get bidirectional MIDI. So jealous.
The LPP Pro has been amazing for so many things. It’s one of two hardware items I’ve never sold or even thought about selling. Just returned my IPad or I would have tried this out.
Do you know if they plan to support the mini mk3 eventually? I love the size of the mini and it would be very compact with a phone
Do the outer buttons do anything?
