This is for version 1 but it’s pretty much the same for patterning 2

Different Drummer is pretty awesome.

In Patterning 2 ‘Euclidean Mode’ is now called ‘Divide Mode’. Maybe that’s why you never noticed it.

I’m a big fan of Sugarbytes, but never noticed Thesys until just recently. I thought it looked amazing, but then realized it was super old. Still thinking of getting it. Does it show its age?

Well, I think it’s still relevant, I mean I use it often. It is a little cramped as some have pointed out but it’s feature rich and choc-full of tricks that I’ve not tried sourcing from elsewhere so can’t really compare it.
I use Thesys and the Rozeta Suite for my sequencing and they cover what I need…
Thesys is just a beast!

I’ve been making a point to learn how to use more of my MIDI utility apps and AUs recently, and have been getting a lot of use out of the Rozeta suite and the “Bud” apps. I’m a big fan of Xequence 2, but found I often got “lost” in it so I’m primarily using it to record MIDI clips these days.

About an hour ago I bought and downloaded the cykle/polybeat bundle, and so far I’m pretty impressed! There’s a lot of Elektron DNA in these apps. In no time I had polybeat sequencing some Linn samples in Koala, and then separate instances of cykle sequencing TAL & OBXd and… it felt a little like having a(n expanded, sky’s-the-limit) Model:Samples on my iPad!

Intersting! I love that UI, hypnotic watching the coloured circle/clock  . Looks very powerful and easy to use, reminds me of Fugue machine.

It looks very intuitive. I will definitely check it out, any idea when it will be released?

In the next week or so, according to the youtube comments

Looks interesting dunno how much mileage I’d get out of it for the stuff I generally do, dnb and hip hop etc… might b cool to get some experimental rhythm going with some breaks…

Don’t overlook the Euclidean module in Drambo sir:

Yes, I find this kind of stuff often great for extra percussion that support a straighter main beat

The fact that ipad apps are pretty cheap has its bad sides. I should probably put more effort into Drambo and watch more tutorials instead of buying more apps. And the fact that they are quite cheap doesn’t make it any easier.

Haven’t used drambo in a while, got sucked back into the beatmaker vortex and its been a pretty productive environment but I can see me making some loops and exporting them from drambo… thanks for the heads up :+1:

Yeah…Apps on iOS are like that Blackberry Scone at the coffee shop. You know you shouldn’t eat it, but hey, it’s only 1.99, so what’s the harm
