This little one would be perfect if only it had a save/load function to avoid regretting erasing ace patterns ^^
I can see how DT can be seen as a grown up Volca Sample, and I like this comparison better than OP-1 actually.
Agree! I really liked the Volca sampler when I had it but ended up selling it because of the limited pattern slots and no way to back up patterns.
DT is really like a Volca sample on steroids and that is a very good thing
DT, OP-1, VS job done.
@avantronica when you say ânew appâ â what does that mean? (Iâve been out of the Elektron game for a little while now, so it might be my unfamiliarity with how they refer to things these days).
Iâve also been wondering about whether organizing samples into folders will be possible on the DT, so this information is helpful. You wouldnât happen to know how many layers down weâll be able to go, do you? (Obviously, less is better!)
Thanks, @PeterHanes. I missed that post (perhaps unsurprisingly!). I suppose weâll see it when it materializes.
Something is troubling me though â I hope this app doesnât mean that itâs not possible to simply plug the DT into a computer and have it appear as hard drive you can just drag and drop samples to (like with the OT).
I canât speak for Elektron, but I can only imagine that the AR and DT will need this app or a third party solution as exists for the AR. I doubt whether DT will appear as a USB mass storage device like the OT does.
Why do you have that doubt?
Primarily because the new app is for use with both AR and DT. If the DT were capable of appearing as a USB storage device (as OT does) there would be no need for the app.
Ok I see. Thanks for clarifying, @PeterHanes. An odd design quirk for sure.
The more I think about it, the more I realize the main appeal of the DT to me is the visual aspect; being able to see the waveform currently used in real time. Itâs something I really like about the Monologue, and is what I liked most about the sampler on the OP-1. I really like playing a key, and immediately having its waveform appear clearly on a screen. I also really like being able to immediately manipulate the starting/loop points of that waveform before my eyes. That little line that acts as a visual cue is such a small detail, but is such a great thing to have.
I really love all the icons as well. That one of the âcubeâ for the reverb seems especially TE OP-1-ish to me.
Iâm telling your MoogâŚ
Also driven by the fact that DT does not have additional storage i.e sd or cf card.
I agree with this. The Digitakt is an opportunity to start fresh and not burden yourself with an old hard drive full of samples. Thatâs more about collecting than it is about music.
When I get my hands on this thing I will be much more interested in creating than just loading.
thanks! I will confess to not having read every single post in this thread. I wish someone would take the time and pull out whatâs been confirmed by Elektron staff. But thatâs a lot to ask (especially since Iâm unable to do it myself heheh).
@obolus @palm agree with you both. I recently tried to go through my samples to decide what to load into my circuit and came away wondering why I have so many GD samples.
I do individually upon requestâŚ
I just use search this thread by user Simon, Olle, or Dataline, and then search for key words, in this case âtransferââŚ
Another good way to find lots of confirmed info is simply search this thread by user, Simon, Olle, or Dataline, and use no keywords and just read all their postsâŚ
