Well I saw that they had a good price and the kit was ‘in stock, delivered by today or tomorrow’ so I ordered last week. After a few days it’s still not shipped, I contacted them and apparently the kit was ‘expected to arrive last week, but delayed’ and now they’re expecting it this week
I just had a look again at the website and seems like the shipping date is in July/August??! I’ll contact them again and if it is indeed July I’ll cancel the order and buy from elevator sound instead. Never had issues with them, really quick 1 day as well
You should message Intellijel and let them know. I doubt they want that kind of business in the fold, especially if it’s a regular thing. Schneidersladen couldn’t even give me a ballpark date the last time I asked.
I’ve had the same experience with Volt - unfortunately since they have a location in my hometown of Rotterdam, which is amazing if they’d be a bit more reliable. I tend to WhatsApp them now to double check if something’s in stock. Half of the time it said yes but turned out to be no. Hope they’ll better themselves soon, I won’t keep trying them for ever.
I asked them on WhatsApp and they said they would answer my question if they actually have it in stock next week. So they probably don’t have it and will have order confirmation next week. So I won’t order anything at this time. Unfortunately ordering from UK will add tull-fees so I will wait and see. There is a retailer in Sweden that can order it but for a lot more money
Edit: just saw they also have an EU store. But I got a better price from the local store so if I order one I will do it there. A lot of money for this so I will probably need to save up a bit for this.
Just got my Solo Kit from Elevator Sound in the UK, look forward to using it with midi things! Also ordered a 15V Ripcord to use it outside the studio (which I will never actually do lol).
Kind of a basic question here: Is track 2 supposed to be able to play different pitches and gate settings from track 1? I think I’ve figured out how to set different pitches for track 2, but when I switch back and forth between tracks 1 and 2, the pitches do not change. It only plays the pitches set in track 1. Thoughts?
Far from an expert here myself. But… there is obviously only one set of sliders and switches. The tracks share the sliders and switches as input, but they can interpret them differently.
For example, different playback directions, speeds, etc. In addition, each track can be a different length or use different skips, which means that you can make the stages “exclusive” by setting the length or skips to be inverses of each other (e.g. track one with a length of 5 and track two skipping the first 5). This approach is covered in a few different videos, I think loopop’s is one!
In addition to that you can set a pitch override on each track, which essentially ignores the slider for that stage of that track.
Mind if I ask how that’s been treating you? I’m thinking of doing the exact same! Is there much latency? Are you using it over USB in to the Hapax USB host or Device input?
Thanks in advance!
Was just playing around with it coincidentally! Almost no latency when returning Metropolix notes into Hapax. All notes come the smallest increment late, but I can just record them for one loop and then move them over a micro step (or not, it’s not really noticeable that small step; or just quantise them to the grid). Very easy and usable.
PS oh I run Usb out into a Kenton USB>Midi device; which I then run into a Kenton midi merger haha, which I then into Hapax. This so I can merge Metropolix and Oxi One of my side setup to record either into Hapax (since Hapax is just way better for saving/managing/loading projects then Metropolix or Oxi One). I have both the USB ports of my Hapax in use, otherwise I might have went Metro>Hapax over usb.
Would ut be possible to record the Meteopolix into the OXI with the same results or are there any reason why you are doing it into your Hapax besides the project management you mentioned
I’m sure it’s possible! I personally really don’t like having projects on Oxi One, since it lacks easy methods to name/manage instruments, projects, etc. (I like it more for jamming, one thing at a time) But otherwise I’m sure it records incoming midi from Metropolix just as well. Haven’t tried it though.
