Awesome. The Metropolis was great. Cool to see an updated version.

Please not. I thought I left modulargrid behind me

Ehhhh…pretty menuey.

Though I’m sure, if so inclined, one could make lovely things with it.

So wait…it does MUCH more than Metropolis, but it’s a $1 cheaper

Pretty sick. I think I’d just get lost with what I did, and would have no idea why what’s coming out is coming out

Too many options. :grimacing:

Yeah I was shocked when I saw the price. Watching the video, I thought that it looked great but there is no way I’ll be able to swing it right now for what I assumed would be ~$650. I’m impressed that they could keep the price down given all the extra functionality.

I was worried they would go the Stillson Hammer route and lose the WYSIWYG aspect of Metropolis in order to add new channels. Having each channel read the same pattern differently is a great way to keep the playabilty intact.

ya I was expecting something like 850-900 honestly.

Still, these module prices are hard to justify for me. but this looks as much fun as could possibly have with a sequencer

Anything standalone that provides a similar sequencing experience? I like the idea of sliders/knobs for pitch that is quantified to a musical scale.

not that I know of. Been hoping for a standalone for a long time. Or better, a standalone atlantis with built in metropolix sequencer.

They’re also Eurorack, but you can check out the similar modules of the RYK M185.

This is what became of the original 2009 product that inspired the Intellijel Metropolis. I believe Intellijel licensed the design from RYK.

But, but…

Could you not just put those two modules in a skiff, and be done with it?

Intellijel even makes small skiffs, complete with MIDI and audio input/output utilities, for that very reason.

Adds up to standalone in my mind.

Cheers!

Sure. But look at the prize :see_no_evil:
Desktop stuff seems to be generally cheaper than everything inside euro world.
Not to mention the costs of a intellijel case, as nice as they look.

Still. I indeed often think about a small skiff with metropolix or the ryk and two synth voices.
This style of sequencer looks so hands on and fun

So are there any hardware sequencers that have knobs or sliders for inputting quantised pitch information? To me this looks like the most fun way of sequencing and I really want to try it. The typhon has the sliders but they aren’t quantised and I found it too fiddly to use.

Damn. Obviously makes me even more want one :see_no_evil:

check this one out man…pretty sweet

very nice indeed!

I like the niche of acid-y electro he’s carving out for his own sound. Whatever he’s putting that 808 / 880 (?) through is working for me.

Nice sequencer too, obviously. The assignable performance knobs look like an excellent addition.

Just discovered this funky module.
So far I haven’t had any modular systems. But I asked myself whether I can use it to sequence my Minitaur and Sirin. Both have Gate / Volume CV / Filter CV / Pitch CV inputs. Gate + pitch should then be controllable with the Metroplix.
Does that make sense or am I getting it wrong?
