I mean, it’s pretty fancy.
@Fin25 recently spotted installing his favorite shimmer reverb VST while holding his favorite yoga pose, the Upward Dog…
congrats
Looks nice in real life, doesn’t it?
See you back here shortly with im bored of computer music.
The macbook pro m1 is probably the best I’ve had in my studio, it has completely changed the way I work. He is quiet, fast. Combined with Bitwig and MIDI controllers I have a completely modular environment, I can work from anywhere with my headphones.
Up and running in less than 30 minutes.
Things I don’t like.
The bottom row of keys are brighter than the others.
The trackpad is weird.
It’s almost a bit too thin.
It’s a fucking Mac. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll use it for anything other than Ableton.
Find a YouTube video on trackpad features, they are pretty sophisticated. I still prefer a mouse myself but as trackpads go they’re good.
You might want to turn off “Force Click and haptic feedback” in the Trackpad settings, and turn on “Tap to click”.
I know what you mean about the thinness. I was relieved to find out that the M2 is a bit boxier and not as Japanese knife-y.
Also, this wavetable thingy is the shit, harder than Ice Cube on a bad day.
FUUUUUU I’m too late to the party.
My argument would’ve been:
Laptops are worse than Volcas.
Indeed.
I have no doubt you are right, but here we are…
And herein lies the turning point where a Mac Vs PC buying advice thread turns to a long, slow and entirely predictable rant about how using laptops is shit/pleas for help.
They are much better than a volca. Try watching hardcore pornography on a volca.
Challenge accepted
I put a volca drum through guitar pedals > pzrn
Well, I always only wish you the very best and you to make new bangers, that’s all
Bangers, pzrn, pleas for help… I like where this thread is going.
Congratulations, that was a good decision. I love Ableton for sound design. Which Macbook model is it?
When I get one of those nasty black seeds from my everything bagel stuck in my teeth, I just reach for my trusty M1 Air.
