Fever Ray / The Knife

I did wonder that after the earlier mention of enby joy, thanks for clarifying!

Dreijer previously used “she” and “her” pronouns; Dreijer’s pronouns are now “they” and “them.”

I was gonna say, yeah. Thanks for actually saying it.

Oh exciting, the first half of their newest album was produced by their brother (the other half of the knife) so it’s the closest to the knife in years now, some great tracks

My statement was merely to point out that Fever Ray is a solo artist, but me refering to a group was to signify that the other musicians play a huge role in the live setup. My comment had nothing to do with gender politics.

Interesting, doesn’t sound so 101-ish to me. How do you know? Definitely love the sound of that bass. Like always with Fever Ray/Knife, rhythmic elements are always melodic and vice versa.

It was posted on their FB, I believe

I’d never paid any attention to either group until this thread…amazing music!

Oh wow, you’re in for a real treat! Maybe the most Elektronauts artist(s), if you look at the unanimous love in this thread.

Great, where did you start?

“I tried to tune in as much as possible into Fever Ray vibes and tried many different styles, or clothes as I usually say when I talk about different music production suggestions,” Olof Dreijer said of “Kandy” in a statement. “But in the end we took out the same synthesizer, the SH101, used for the Knife track, ‘The Captain,’ and it just worked!”

I’m joining the chorus of fans and admirers of Fever Ray, absolutely loved the 1st album, the following 2 albums didn’t move me as much on release UNTIL I seen them at Glastonbury this year and they completely blew my mind, amazing performance, and now I totally love those albums, really shows the importance of seeing a band live to really ‘get’ it, now I’m a bit obsessed with their music, my 1st music obsession was Kraftwerk, then Depeche Mode, now it’s Fever Ray, genius electronic music imo…

Literally just finished listening to “Radical Romantics” with my partner and I’m blown away! It’s the perfect eclectic blend of danceable and introspective, and now I just wish I could see them live!! The way Karin’s vocals blend with the other sounds in each composition feels so thought out, and their use of processing feels very intentional and adds to the overall ethereality of the whole album. On top of that, the grooves are so infectious that my partner and I couldn’t help but get up and move! Very very inspiring stuff all around!!

What an awesome liveset! The sound, the songs, the performance, the visuals! Brings back memories from their Helsinki show in June, which was absolutely mindblowing! Fever Ray is probably my favourite artist right now, and have been for some time.

Won’t listen to it since I’ll see them in March and want to keep it a surprise. But hope is this could be one of the most memorable concerts of the last years! Listening back to Radical Romantics, it’s the benchmark of electronic music in 2023 for me. So far ahead, yet so easy to get into and sing along to.

thanks for posting this, I was coming here to make sure someone had!

I only managed to see Fever Ray once at Roskilde off the back of her first album (I live very far from Europe)… it was an amazing show, but it certainly didn’t look anything like this.

to see the almost Cronenberg levels of ugly going on in it, and her amazing lunatic grin… that whole show left me thrilled when I stumbled on it last week. they’ve really gone to another level on the visual side of it.

Very similar tracklist from their show in Stockholm @ Rosendal during summer!

And I got tickets for their concert in March over here, as a Christmas gift to my girlfriend (a Stockholmer that loves Fever Ray/The Knife but never saw them playing live, shocking!).

Really excited to see Karin (and the band) do their thing again
