Damn I’ve had the OT for years and I don’t think I’ve ever used solo, or if I did once, my fingers have long forgotten the button combo
I have looked this up in the manual, but I don’t understand it.
Can you explain it please?
If you are in mute mode, holding FUNC will “prepare” the mutes so they only apply when you release FUNC. So if you want to solo a track you can go to mute mode, hold FUNC, press all the tracks except the one you want to solo, then release FUNC to solo the track.
Ok thanks.
So it still means (assuming I have 16 tracks of audio playing), pressing 32 buttons, rather than 4 buttons?
Great for a smooth workflow Elektron! Thanks so much
Not sure where you got 32. FUNC + TRK to enter mute mode (2 buttons) then 15 button presses to mute 15 tracks. Every instrument has tradeoffs, none have every feature I want. And even if they did implement every feature I want, I would find new things to want.
FUNC + TRK, 2 buttons, plus 15 = 17, then 17 to unmute them all. So 34 in fact…
I understand that instruments have trade offs, f’sure. But not having a solo button (or combo) seems utterly fucking ridiculous to me. But that’s just me.
You could use func+yes to save the unmuted state, then mute everything, then use func+no to reload the unmuted state, that would save some button presses, but only works with pattern (purple) mutes.
Good to know.
Cheers!
when you’re in mute mode, hold FUNC and any number of tracks, muted track will unmute and unmuted tracks will mute but only when you release the func button
Perform without [FUNC]
Perform mode is great. The perform mode should not need [FUNC], to make it easier to access while performing live. The preset & kit menu should be accessed by pressing [FUNC] + perform.
This could be an option enabled in the personalize menu.
Scale quantization
When running the ARP it would be very helpful if you could quantize it to the scale you’ve chosen.
Also, it would be lovely if there was an option to quantize everything to the chosen scale. Ie. when you’re in th TRIG-menu and noodle around with the notes for a given step, it would be nice if you would get the option to:
- A: Quantize to closest note, ie. the chosen note is still shown (say, C) but it automatically quantizes to the closest note in the chosen scale, say, C#. This would open up for the possibility to change notes on the fly in a sequence without having to know scales, if your desire is to stay within scale.
- B: Only show available notes in the chosen scale, ie. you can’t choose C but only C# and so forth. This would open up for some very interesting scenarios if you switch the global scale in the midst of a jam session
A more advanced UNDO / REDO function with a memory for the last 10 modifications.
This would prevent many of us from destroying a project in a second ;).
And please add a modulation parameter to the reverb!
This prevents ugly resonance peaks.
Thank you Elektron.
Slendro keyboard scale (in addition to Pelog)
C Level as LFO target
Dunno if this is possible since it’s not already a discrete SYN page parameter. But there are sounds I’d like to create modulating C level, separate from A and B, and not affecting total volume of the sound (since A and/or B could be making their own sound)
Hey,
Would love a Vocoder machine that uses audio input (mono or stereo) as modulator.
Would also love an enveloppe follower machine for MOD section based on audio inputs.
live record clear track
if in live record mode, func+play clears the track you’re in. not the pattern.
FX damage
individual overdrives/SRR/BRR on each send FX page.
master machine
to take control of master bus comp and distortion, with added master filter and SRR/BRR. basically whatever goes to comp routing goes to master machine first
mixer page visual metering
some blinky business like the trig buttons do already to visually see what the tracks are doing on the screen while looking at levels
TRACK LAYERING SHOULD INCLUDE MODULATIONS!
For example, when I layer track 2 with track 1, when I play with my modwheel or with breath control, it should modulate track 2 with track 1!!!
I’ve got two:
Free lfo syncing: New FREE SYNC lfo mode that is the same as FREE except it resets the phase of the lfo when a pattern starts. (I’m aware that there are hacks to make the lfo work this way but it would be nice to not have to use hacks.)
Euclidean reset: option in the euclidean menu to set the number of steps after which the euclidean pattern should reset (or infinity if it should run freely). This can be done globally with pattern reset but it would be nice to have on a per-track basis.
Currently, Arp and Retrig on the same track is a one-way street:
Arp>Retrig (Retrigs are triggered from the Arp notes)
I’d like to be able to flip the routing to Retrig>Arp, so the Arp can be ‘reset’ by Retrig.
PRE ARP / PST ARP on one of the RTRG page’s spare slots would be great (TRIG page 2):
