Use pan as an LFO destination, set LFO to random with high slew. If you chose the POLY option in setup menu (default) and “reuse” in voice menu, each note in your chord will have its own LFO.
Polyphonic Aftertouch!
I’m digging this one up. I was doing research on DN2 recently and was surprised that it doesn’t support PAT. Not in specs via external controller, nor in internal sequencer. It would be great, if they added another layer of data just for that, so that either via second page or via utilising knobs A, B, C and D in Note Edit one could add AT per note with lock trigs per note. How I imagine it:
Each note could have layer of AT information and maybe even PB, if possible, for that microtonal management (I’m not sure, if MIDI spec supports that, without reaching for MPE, requiring switching from 16 channels for 16 tracks, to one global MPE, which gives me another idea ;]). If note extends to another trig, there could be possibility to set new AT information with slew setting. Imagine, if per step, one could change AT and PB each with slew (glide, slide) per note.

Sequencing without triggering a track (just like on the Octatrack). Right now, if I connect my midi keyboard to the Digitone 2’s auto channel, hold down a step, and play a note, the track will sound out the note that I played. This is problematic because in a live situation, you may want to enter in notes without them being audible.
The ideal behavior for this would be just like that of the Octatrack : when no step is being held down, the track can be played normally by the midi keyboard, but when a step is held down, the keyboard simply enters in the notes without making the sound play.
Change the OCTAVE setting in Sound Setup into a TRANSPOSE setting
With the randomize feature it’s easy to make presets that are transposed but difficult to fix. Having a transpose setting would solve the problem. Not to be confused with the pattern transpose feature.
How about some support for samples? I know that’s the Digitakt’s thing, but maybe some basic samples, I ask this since I feel that adding more realistic drum sounds would complete the package for me and others I feel, or if no support for samples, at least a acoustic drum engine like on the Syntakt would be killer!
Is there really not a Solo function on the DNII?!
If not, what is Elektron’s logic behind that decision? It must be a conscious decision to not include it.
Seems so bizarre to me
First of all I want stability, so I can actually perform with this thing without being scared of freezes.
truer words were never spoken
Map arpeggiator to modulation parameter or macro
Currently the arpeggiator only modulates the MIDI note value. I would like the arpeggiator to be able to target macros (like breath control) or modulation parameters (like filter frequency cutoff).
It would be great if preset manager shows preset assigned to current track for more convenient navigation or preset reloading.
Would be cool to have overbridge for iPadOS to use with DAWs on iPad. Seems technically possible, as evidenced by tracker mini + AUM.
Yeah nothing about this in the manual, when you have 16 tracks it seems very odd not including a solo function…
feature for sure, you can scoot start point out and it lets you use just the very tail end of a specific shape to use as a little ez envelope. sound design wet dream
Perhaps this has already been mentioned:
The way to access the menu for filter selection feels unintuitive. Is there a logical reason for this design?
Sure, “Filters” are technically machines as well, but it would be more convenient to press “Func+Filter” directly instead of first selecting “Filter” and then “Func+SYN.”
I know it’s the same with the DT2, and I can live with it, but it still feels odd. It also gives the impression that there might be other hidden menus structured this way.
[Hello, Octatrack ;-)]
there’s a prepare mute function , wich is a kinda like it , i personnally prefer the prepare mute function than a classic solo function
This is not the method you’re asking for, but FYI - you don’t have to select Filter first. Press Func+Syn from any screen and then press the right arrow to view the list of filters
No Solo function indeed.
But you can prepare Mutes.
To be fair to the DNII - I’ve never seen a solo function on any Elektron device
External Midi offset
Using an external sequencer with the DN2 I always have to keep in mind a 2 octave offset. When I send a C3, the DN2 plays a C5.
I wonder if it would be possible to implement an option in the MIDI settings to select an offset for external MIDI use. Thank you.
