Is it right that you can‘t stay in pattern selection „mode“? DT always switches back to the track trig mode of the new selected pattern. If you don‘t want to mangle the selected pattern immediately but only quickly switch between your patterns it would be a lot better to stay in the pattern selection mode to change without having to use two buttons.
I was just wishing for this function today!
Is it possible to duplicate a song/arrangement? I would like to copy and paste songs in song mode so I can have several versions with subtle alterations, where I’m free to experiment without losing the original arrangement.
It looks like the only option is the build each song up from scratch each time.
I really would like more creative effects.
What is there is very minimal, and I like minimal.
Just looking at Loopop Digitone 2 video, kinda looks like they invested more time and ideas into machines and overall functionality of the whole box.
Wish that werp, stretch and grid machines are a bit more thought out, for sample based editing and manipulation. They feel a bit unfinished and very simplistic.
Slice is great addition f.e.
Or having one machine just for effects instead werp or stretch.
Track layering and polyphonic mode also.
Hehe now i think it’s not a bad idea to just buy Dn2 as well
Hello everyone,
what i would like to see is futur updates are
- a DJ filter in the mixer page
- be able to chose between headphones jack or cue out
- having some kind of “fader” for the performance mode. at the moment is only ON or OFF. i would love to at least get some kind of control to blend it
- a better Stretch machine and why not a granular machine
for me this would be the perfect machine
Sample search by name and length is a must have feature for Digitakt
I wish, that while holding down TRK, I would be able to see which tracks have sequence data (the same way that PTN lets you see populated patterns)
Helpful when
- revisiting old projects
- understanding projects you didn’t write (e.g. factory presets)
Just noticed you cannot adjust headphone volume independent of the main output volume.
While one should probably never be making a master or mix fully in headphones, I just found myself wanting to gain stage into Ableton via USB to quickly record a sketch, and I couldn’t get the levels right without danger to my ears (I’m away from my studio monitors). While I may have been able to adjust something on Ableton’s end, it would be nice to not be dependent on that feature existing outside the box to make that work (ended up recording into a Zoom recorder which allowed me to adjust the input gain).
To be clear, my request is for a headphone volume to exist in the mixer which is independent from the main outs, perhaps with a setting in Personalize for tethering or breaking the tether between the main volume knob and the headphones.
Time have changed, one can do whatever these days. Try it, it sounds good
I agree. And so many people nowadays use headphones, and especially AirPods to listen to their music - about 21% globally. I tend to skew my mixing towards headphones now.
I think i have read here on forum that it’s not possible, that this is a hardware issue.
Someone else who knows better can confirm
Totally agree with this - some of us who play live would love to monitor in the headphones without affecting the main output volume. It would be great to be able to set a volume “scale” for attenuation which the headphone out would respect (e.g. 1/2, 1/4, etc.).
I’ve always found this to be really annoying when playing live, because you basically have to create your own monitor mix externally, even though there’s a dedicated headphone output.
After writing up the following bug report:
I was told that, in fact this behavior is intentional.
Even though the manual states:
TUNE
Tune sets the pitch of the sample. The knob works in a bipolar fashion, and a value of 0 leaves the pitch unchanged. The range is +/- 5 octaves. Press and hold [FUNC], and then turn the DATA ENTRY knob to snap parameter values to full octaves. Press and turn the DATA ENTRY knob to snap parameter values to semitones.
I have been assured that this is not a bug:
Because of that, I’d like to put in a feature request to make the behavior consistent with that listed in the manual:
For all current and future uses of FUNC to snap values (on any parameter) maintain that functionality when holding a Trig in GRID REC to create/edit a note trig/lock trig.
Octatrack style sample recording buffer machine would be awesome(since we already have sample buffer when recording sample into digitakt even if it’s assigned to a track)
Swing per track also
Longer sample recording like on Octatrack(for longer melodic or vocal samples), since we have more disk space anyways
Stretch machine (just proper stretch machine, again like octatrack)
Chord mode
Punch in fx, for performance and fun fun fun
Love this machine since i bought it, using it every day, just these things would be awesome bonus to already great box.
Keep up great work.
didnt check here for a while, so good to see the new slicing!
is there also a “width” (stereo) parameter available now?
and trig slides?
