Is that a slug?, I don’t think I have ever seen one evolve past the usual shape.

Yeah I think the common name is “leaf-veined slug”

I saw this one once and tried to look around for more but no luck, apparently they’re kind of common but I never saw one again since

Was out camping by the fire when this little guy strolled onto me - it’s a Scorpionfly, aka panorpa communis, of the order mecoptera. They’re common here in the UK around this time of year, with males having a tail resembling a scorpion (no stinger) which they use for mating purposes. Their curved tail and ‘beak’ are really cool, and I’ve read that members of their species are known for elaborate mating rituals such as bringing ‘nuptual gifts’ of dead insects and masses of saliva!

Had these guys show up last year after letting some celery go to seed… I guess swallow tails love it. If you poke them those little orange things pop out and are supposed to be stinky to scare off predators.

Here are a few more pics I took over the last weeks:

Anything that moves is very hard to get a good pic of so I’m always grateful when they sit still
Cheers!

I use a macro lens add on to my phone which is a samsung a54.
It’s by Apexel, I think its called something like “macro lens with led fill light”

it looks like this

I use a little bit of digital zoom on the phone for the smaller buggos, and “pro mode” on the phone so you can lock the focus, because I noticed auto focus did not work very well.

I do not know much of photo settings at all but I would say I have a good eye for finding bugs since I like them a lot, always keeping an eye out for them!

Just tested the macro mode of my spanking new Ricoh GR III by shooting a friendly grasshopper on my balcony. Cropped the image a bit, apart from that it’s SOOC.
