i love those insect channels on facebook… and no, they are not AI…
Care to share a link? Oh facebook, i read youtube.
the one i got those pictures from is called “Survival war insects” but there are a few of those insect channels
“world of insects” also got lots of totally crazy photos
Great, thanks
I love bugs and keep ants as pets!
Recently I bought a macro addon for my phone for some amateur macro fun, I am a big photo noob but I always look for bugs when I take walks and snap photos/videos
Here is Lasius Flavus queen with some workers.
Lasius Niger with a lot of pupae
A cute spider
Formica Sanguinea, a slave raiding species and here you can see it with Formica Fusca which is needed to start a colony (queen is a social parasite who invade a nest of smaller species to kill the queen and take her place) I however gave recently hatched workers and the queen accepted them
Bee!
Are you sure about that? ![]()
i knew I shouldn’t have but I did… click… nightmares
btw
Does anyone of you happen to know an old (b&w?) horror movie in which man-sized locusts or cicadas are walled up and at some point wake up and break out?
Cicadas are out in the NC mountains after 17 years chilling underground. Heres the eerie sound they make:
FTFY
Absolutely amazing how diverse and sophisticated mother nature works
I hate to be that guy, but half of these aren’t insects. Still beautiful though.
As someone who lives next to a green patch in the tropics, I absolutely prefer seeing insects on the phone. I’m always fighting the 5 cm long roaches, I hate them with a passion, and I’m thankful to any spider willing to help. Spiders are our friends, even the huge ones.
There are some things that are worse than insects, of course. Had a couple snakes in the house this year. Even worse, had a scolopendra at home, that’s an eldritch horror that can kill a baby.
why did i google that!?
I miss Cicada’s a lot from my time in the Deep South.
I was also in Japan a while back and the little town we were in threw a Cicada street party all night long. It was awesome.
Thanks for sharing.
Bugs rock. Tiny little universes in their artistic anatomy. Shocks me sometimes when I look at a 1/8" spider that’s almost fractal in complexity when you keep zooming in.
From galaxies to tiny insects, this universe is art.
What are they if not insects? (sorry if my bad English missed the meaning)
EDIT now i know… Spiders are not insects
thank you, i didn’t know that ![]()
