Ableton Live 11

I’m actually tempted to get one myself now for some couch time in the evening when the missus is watching her shows…

Yeah totally normal…

can live lit open a project from ultimate if i reduce the track count?

It’s a great little controller the more I think about it!

I had something similar at first where not all of the knobs worked for device parameters, some jumped between min/max or didn’t work at all.
Got round this by copying the M4L script tracks from the example project into my existing projects rather than adding them to new tracks using the guide. Not sure why but that worked.
Now I have a template project with the script tracks included so I can start from a blank.

Will try that thanks

Just been having a look around for a used one, pretty annoying that the black version is so much more pricey… I actually can’t stand white controllers tbh…

Yeah I would buy black too - lucky enough someone loaned me this one.
I don’t like white either

feeling kinda dumb but I’m sure that there was a time I’ve seen someone making custom content in the help pane, perhaps Mr. Bill, not sure…

I’m trying to create a custom template for my DN/AR and I wanted to have a place where I can put some project notes, like which patterns / kits being used, stuff like that, anyone knows how can I do that?

Under the edit menu, theres an option called ‘edit info text’ - this will let you associate written notes with tracks. Like you said, it shows up in the info view / help pane in the bottom left of the screen, so you need to have that open to see the notes.

yeah, that’s the bottom left box and it can be assigned to tracks or clips or stuff like that, but it’s not global and you have to put the assigned item to focus. the help pane on the is global for the project… I know I’ve seen it been modified somewhere but can’t find it anywhere in the menus, maybe it’s impossible and I would need to edit the info text for a track or something.

Hey, BTW, which color/design template do you use here? Looks very nice in the screenshot. Best

thanks, that’s something I came up with…

Hep,
I try to save my M4L device mapping in effect rack. The idea is to have pre-mapped M4L modulation device on VSTs that lack modulation ( Unfilterd Audio latest effects for instance ). That way I can recall the rack and I don’t have to remap everything everytime.

The problem is that it seems that M4L devices can’t save their mapping when they are saved in an Effect Rack preset. I tried with third party M4L devices and also with stock lfos.
It seems weird to me that it’s impossible to do.

Any idea or workaround ?

Does anyone have experience buying the education license of Ableton through Thomann? They’re selling Standard (Education) for $175, which is cheaper than Ableton’s own price of $269.

Not with Ableton, but I did buy a Bitwig edu license thru them. Very smooth process.

However, if you can spare the extra bucks I think the edu suite version is a much better deal: Ableton Live 11 Suite EDU – Thomann United States

Hey folks, does anyone know if it’s possible to use Ableton devices inside max? Like I could build an Ableton set in max using Ableton devices, but to my own UI tastes etc?

edit: sorry, ‘build an Ableton set’ is probably the wrong terminology. My meaning is more, can I just use like Ableton Analog inside Max? If I own suite?

Not as far as I know, though you could of course send note ons etc to Analog or whatever from a M4L device

interesting question, cannot speak for ableton devices but i’ve seen recently a post on reddit of a guy that does Valhalla vsts wrappers in format of native inline devices, so i’m thinking that if he could do it you can probably wrap native devices as well… not sure but seems possible
