Good question!
John please.
I’m holding off my next purchase till then… just in case it is the Mixer/Neuron idea that I want and proposed as well back at EU’s…
They will probably wait till at least the sale is over before announcing, no?
And if a brand new product, expect the videos…
Me, too. i’m now ready to buy an OT. The only think is now what is inside the cube, really a Head problem for me.
OK. Elektron’s. We say in Germany " Nägel mit Köpfen".
On Friday my OT will be arrive
I’m in the same boat but for a Monomachine. Hell I already ordered a two-tier stand from Neil/Marmot, so if the new machine isn’t the same size I’m sorta screwed lol.
but if it’s some neurony thing I’ll probably go with the MnM anyway.
From a business perspective, I think it would make sense to wait until the Analog KEYS ships before releasing any info about their latest instrument. I would imagine there are more than a few cats who are getting both anyway, but it would make sense to wait until they move a few AKs before revealing the next one.
@bigbang, the more than few cats must be well off to buy both. I don’t know many people (including myself) who have an extra $3000+ to spend on synths these days. As far as the reveal, it makes sense of what you said.
NAMM is 01/23/14. Hopefully they will let us in on what the new new is before then. But we will have full discloser on the machine or modules at NAMM I imagine .
I haven’t read this whole thread but a cool product in my book would be something like a Novation SL/KiwiTechnics controller integrated with an Elektron XOX sequencer. So you could load a “configuration” for a particular piece of gear and then you could p-lock/sequence Sysex strings etc. with the notes. You can kind of clumsily do this with several passes of MIDI recording through a DAW or something but there’s nothing integrated out there as far as I am aware.
Apparently, the furor had died. Stretching curiosity and interest for weeks had killed off the enthusiasm somewhat. Now it seems like “It will be announced when it is announced”.
very mysterious secret photos from the Elektron factory ! Looks like a close up of a man or maybe a child playing some sort of futuristic cooking device. Keep the pic´s coming!
Nope, like I predicted from the onset several times, it will be announced shortly after the sale is over (dec 13 - this Friday), or very close to the deadline if before. shift the old stock in a sale, before announcing the new stock which may impede on shifting those units.
lets fire this back on a little
so, the sequencer at the bottom and screen on the top right seem to be comparable with existing machines.
the lights on the left and hint that it has a different form factor than the rest are intriguing though…
…anyone had any more hints or imagination about the new new?
the new lights look like they are cycling. Perhaps something OTO-like, applicable as a second cycle against a standard 16 trig cycle of FX-layered Through machines.
Or else Dataline has stuck a flashing Xmas toy to the front of the new box to totally confuse anyone trying to guess!
new to elektron gear so my guess probably doesn’t amount to much
but seeing as they have done some upgrading of boxes and even some with changes that allow the birth box to stay intact (i.e. A4 and AK)…why not something like an analog drum but is a 16 channel with OT functionality and added pads? some people want that drumming aspect, some people want more than 8 tracks on the OT…it would allow the OT to still exist fine as a product
just a guess though…who knows…maybe it’s just a tacocat
hmmmm…. different form factor… what appears to be images including a cat. Are we looking at some sort of sequenced image projection system for live club/venue use?
This would certainly conform to Elektron’s statement that the new machine would not compete against other Elektron gear.
