Umm…that was my point. I was responding to the prior poster who complained about XLR inputs…
Indeed, I was agreeing with you Have edited my reply to make that clearer.
I just wish I could actually buy one of these - no stock anywhere in Australia.
Very confused. The mixer works great from all inputs to my master out to speakers.
But when I plug my USB C cable from my iPad or Mac, there is no sound from my iPad or Mac through the mixer. On the Mac it shows the L6 and I’ve enabled the 12 in and 4 out. On my iPad it shows all the ins and outs in AUM…but no sound ever comes out from either though the mixer.
Is there some setting on the Mixer I need to enable…I’ve. read the manual two times and nothing seems to work. I unplugged the cable and ran it into my Scarlett 2i2 and that worked great. Is there supposed to be something lighting up when you plug the cable into the top USB connection??? I tried it also with the side USB connected for power and also not connected, just powering it from the top USB. It either is messed up or I’m an idiot…probably the latter.
Die you activate the usb in button on channel 5 and/or 6.
I knew I was an idiot. Thought those were more mono buttons like on the other channels. I need glasses.
Is it possible to “link” channels 1 & 2 into one stereo pair (other than hard panning manually, having to set levels on both channels separately etc)?
Nope unfortunately they can’t be linked.
One workaround though, would involve using midi to control both at the same time. Defeats the purpose of having physical knobs on the unit but workarounds are workarounds…
One of my channels just stopped working. Encoder does nothing. Tried resetting without a result. Anyone seen this before?
I had something similar but a reboot solved it.
New firmware today.: 1.10
Thx. And welcome!
Release notes v1.10
Release to add the following function and fix the following issue in January 2025
-
Added function
A function has been added that allows selection of the audio interface input and output channels setting. This responds to an issue in which some iPad DAW apps would not properly recognize the inputs and outputs. -
Fixed issues
Other minor issues have been fixed.
This device would solve all my mixer needs, if it only had an assignable stereo AUX channel I want to sample (in stereo) stuff without having to replug cables all the time.
sounds like you need a proper mixer like 1202 VLZ
I have one, but it is way to big. Bluebox might be a solution, but I don’t like how 1010 handles user feedback and for that money I would like it to be able to act as a multichannel soundcard. MOTU UltraLite mk5 would be awesome, but a little expensive to be used as mixer most of the time.
So when I saw the L-6 I hoped the “done it right”
Sup. Just got this. I’m going through the manual now. Two things I’m unsure about:
- What’s the supported max on the microsd card
- There’s an effect send, but no effects return. Do you just route it back to one of the tracks? Also, is it possible to do a stereo effects send, or is it just mono x2?
Thanks!
Update:
Found the link to the supported cards:
Yes. Old school !
Can somebody comment on the quality of the preamps? I have a Zoom F6 which I am not using as much as I should, the L6 seems to have a much better interface, but it would be kind of weird if the preamps were as good as the ones on the F6 for mics.
I won’t comment on the mic preamp quality because I’ve yet to test. However the build is a bit plasticky, though I do like the feel of the knobs. It’s very light. Looks like a toy. I don’t mind, but might be a big change for you from the F6 which looks like it’s for broadcasting/podcast/film applications.
Just wanted to add that this thing is amazing, especially for the price. I was thinking the other day that LED indicators on infinite knobs should be more common. Just the tactile and visual feedback of it makes me want to use it. (Currently using it with my iPad).
Just chiming in to say I agree, excellent wee device - so convenient! Going to test use as an audio interface asap too.
