use aux1/2 as an extra stereo output from pc/Mac/mobile.
I guess that’s what it means with 12in, 4out
I want to send stereo audio from ableton to OT, process it with FX, and then record on Ableton, and still use the master output to my monitors as usual.
Would this be possible?
Just got this little mixer recorder yesterday and I’m very impressed. I’m just using it as a dawless recorder to track my jams. Works and sounds great.
Mentioned already a couple times.
For aux send on page 56 it shows the software with 2 distinct FX sends where you configure pre or post fader, and in the signal diagram it shows:
Both left and right are send at the same time to aux 1 or 2.
You currently only can send stereo aux by having the stereo signal on 2 different channels and adjusting aux 1 for the first and aux2 for the second to be at the same level.
Just hooked up my new L6 for the first time tonight and fired up Ableton.
When using the L6 as an audio interface, it seems there is no way to record on all 10 analog inputs and simultaneously output 2 channels from the computer for monitoring? Basically, in order to hear any output from the computer we have to sacrifice 2 inputs? Am I missing something? If so, this is nuts and I hope this is addressed in a firmware update.
I had hoped that when using strip 5 to monitor outputs 1/2, the L / R analog inputs would still be captured by the computer, but instead it’s just looping back the 1/2 output channels back into the computer.
Yeah I’ve been meaning to post about this. Although I use this primarily as a mixer, I had hoped it would serve my needs as an interface but it seems to be lacking.
Not sure what people expected, just finding something that gets to 6 inputs (scarlet 8i6) (because 2 of the 8 are spidif…) is already just a hundred less, for the price this is already packed.
I find it weird, a) the signal diagram is clear in the manual that’s free, and the available ins/outs / feature set is unique in this price bracket with that portability. If you only need it as an interface, there are others, if you don’t need the portability then there is the l-8 for almost nothing more.
What’s the usecase here I’m missing where using 2 of the ins for the DAW is a big problem? If you would use the AUX send you would also need to get it back in. Imho it’s the same behaviour

Sure, it’s still a great deal if it can only function as an 8 analog in - 2 analog out audio interface. There’s just no technical reason it that two channels of input to the computer have to be sacrificed to get 2 channels of output when used in a multitrack audio interface application, so I didn’t expect that. When the use case is as a mixer for analog and digital sources, I get the UX design decision to sacrifice analog inputs for digital ones. But when used say for multi-tracking into Ableton, this is needlessly crippling functionality. Fortunately, I think this could very easily be addressed in a firmware update that would allow the L6 to live up to its full potential in both mixer and audio interface use cases. I hope it happens.

I don’t think it’s a particularly exotic use case. It’s just using the L6 as a multitrack audio interface into Ableton to capture live jams with my hardware and external effects. Sometimes I won’t need all 10 channels, for sure, but frequently I absolutely could use those additional two channels I’m loosing. If sacrificing two inputs to monitor in Ableton, with two stereo effects returns from hardware effects, that leaves only 4 mono ins / 2 stereo pairs for synths / drum machines.
Anyway, my point here is that the current L6 design is needlessly limiting its potential as a multitrack audio interface. Your milage may vary. I hope they fix this.
Im thinking about getting this to replace a macki3 vlz4 8 channel mixer as the transformer on it sends out interfence to the elektron gear in a flight case set up.
Does any L6 owners have noise issues they know of?
Can someone help me understand how to use sends on this mixer with a Korg nts-3? I plugged the sends to Korg’s inputs and then Korg’s outputs to L6’s channel 4. I then send signal from channel, say, 2 to the sends and apply an effect on the NTS3 but I can only hear unaltered sound via the monitors.
Beautiful. Thank you. Yeah im just running A4 an Rytm with separate outs in a gator case. The vlz causing static havoc. I am hoping this little zoom guy is the perfect option!
So, I see folks here managed to use it with iOS. Is there any app installation needed? I tried to use a lightning cable to record a video with sound, standard camera app, but it does not see it as input
The Korg NTS3 uses a mini jack stereo input and output and the aux sends on the L6 are mono. So you will need to use both aux sends to into the NTS3 to for a stereo input.
The NTS3 does not sum a mono input into a stereo output unfortunately.
