Your Setups (Part 1)

I bought some kvgear racks and a cheap laptop stand for my launchpad, my back is happier for it. Should really move the crate of records somewhere more accessible now tho.

I know I already posted but here’s my new pedalboard replacement for gigs. I’m excited about it. I loathe having to lug around a pedalboard. Also, the amount of adaptor cables one must have for all of these gadgets (Zoia, op-1, OT, DN, etc. etc.) gets pretty crazy so I bought a little plastic organizer.

The side hustle. I use this to generate ideas to then sample and turn to songs on the Force.

Whoa. That sure beats my bagging like cables in ziploc bags and keeping them in a basket I bought at cost plus. Nice idea.

Nice! I came to a similar solution for my home Studio on a slightly different scale…

Ikea Malm for any cable/stuff/whatever needs beneath my working desk.

Oh, the keyboard looks like it’s a placeholder for a Digitone Keys! Would perfectly fit in there instead. Just saying.:sweat_smile:

Aaah the IKEA SKUBB. I use them as well for cable management.
And I made a Eurorack case with one of them

Ooooh, are those the new Output/Barefoot monitors? How are they/what’d you have before?

are you using track 8 as a master? I have the same impression that it’s output is quite hot, but it’s been a while since I wasn’t using 8 as a master, that now I don’t remember if it’s true when 8 is a sampling track too…

I do usually use track 8 as Master. Should I try it the other way?

Is that a Squier Classic Vibe JB? And if so, what do you think of it?

you can try, but likely it’s desired for 8 to be master in the method you’re using it (as a mixer). there’s a lot of places to set levels within your setup and in the OT, so you may need to be more specific where the issue is coming in.

also: beautiful space. and :+1: for some Four Tet.

It is. I’ve always had good luck with the squire basses. Since I’m primarily a guitar player (but started with bass when I was 15), I just can’t bring myself to spend a lot on a bass. I got it from Sweetwater since they set it up so yes, it plays great. The Squire logo always bothers me a little but, they actually know how to make a decent bass.

Squier VM series are great basses for the price. The pickups are a bit lifeless and the tuners & bridge could be sturdier, but I got my Jaguar VM bass for 200€ and it’s well worth double that price. Still, there’s a huge difference between it and my CiJ Fender Jag, but the Fender one is around 800-1200 euros.

Thanks a lot, yeah, I’m not a bass player, just a ham-fisted guitarist who’d like to have a bass on hand from time to time, and I’m wondering if a CV like that would do the job just fine vs a Mexican Player or something that would be twice the price. I probably wouldn’t even mind upgrading the parts over time as long as the basics are good (ie, can I achieve a decent setup and have it hold tune reasonably well).

I don’t think they do VM basses anymore, but that’s the kind of thing I’d be looking for. I think they changed from Seymour Duncan made pickups to a Fender designed type not that long ago and people seemed to approve of that change, so maybe that aspect has improved now.

I really like the look of the CV Jaguar bass except for the laurel fingerboard (not a fan of the look or feel of laurel).

A4, Dfam, and Fostex X-24 4-track. I like only having a couple pieces
