Your Setups (Part 1)

Its cables from aliexpress, but they are good enough.

I’m using samples very rarely. Don’t like to waste time to find useful one. So I just don’t need sampler(and I can use deluge for some speech or vocal like staff).
So model:cycle for me is just FM drum machine. It’s sounding good with DN.
Why 2 DNs?
I’m using them like multilayer synths, often with unison, and trig less p-locks, sequencing them with deluge, so 8 voices not to much for that.
About tracks, I’m not pro, just like jam for fun, so I don’t have much recorded tracks.
Just couple random recorded jams with this setup

What a great setup. Small and very powerful.

How do you like the multitrack recording on the Zoom?

It works. The amount of noise is acceptable, not audible to me. Cheap. Has a level meters for every track. Dinamic effects can be enabled on master and every track. Can be used with mac, as audio interface. So, that’s all I need for my home, or friendly places jams. But there is no send outs. And it’s very compact!!!

It’s not perfect, but for home/field usage it good enough for me

it came out by itself, it was not the goal. Krk rocket were bought more than 10 years ago, white ones because they were cheaper. white ikea table, again because they were cheaper than other colors.

I have the same Zoon and it’s really great. As you said, acceptable level of noise (can’t hear it in a finished product either) and it’s nice that it’s usable without a DAW as well. Great piece of hardware for sure.

Yes, it’s one of main point for me, I just have not enough time to use DAW :frowning: children :), they taking most of my time, and all off this, work, selfstuding :frowning: but I’m happy, they likes this sounds, like my deluge, DNs, for all colored nobes, all my old synths  it’s just happiness of holding them. Elektron FM is so easy to use.

Thanks a lot! I’m really struggling to find cool chord progressions so I’ll take that as a win!

This is the latest iteration of my setup.

Very jealous of your Ultralite mk4. Impossible to find new, currently.

Edit: impossible to find new or used. The two used ones on Reverb are now gone.

If you don’t mind spending twice the money you can always get the 828x  :money_with_wings:

i’m finding used 828es, for 750-800(US) range
(actually thinking of selling mine)

I have a good setup going today and it all makes sense but there’s one thing that kind of confuses me and I have seen it mentioned on this forum before. The OT is SO VERY LOUD compared to my other gear. And the gain staging is strange. I have DN running into OT A/B and OP-1 coming into C/D, also Zoia is going into DN external in (guitar into Zoia using a cab sim patch- sounds great). It’s a good system because I can sample anything I want. It’s just weird trying to direct monitor and having to back off OT main volume quite a bit, which messes with the headphone level. I’ll just have to keep experimenting.

Hah, welcome to the world of OT. I noticed the same with my mk2. I still don’t think I’ve gotten it quite right, but I have a workflow that works. As with most things on OT, there are many ways to skin a cat. Search for threads on here for gain staging. You’ll find some good info.

Yes there’s a few I’ve been reading. I don’t remember my MKI being this unruly with the loud mains. But that was 6 years ago. It’s not a huge deal, just trying to get it sorted so I don’t have to spend 30 minutes in menus every time I want to jam.
