Any link to where you purchased your refurbs? I’ve also been looking at the Focal Alpha line as possible upgrades to my current monitors and this is a great price!
Check out Alto Music’s listings on EBay. I made a best offer to get the pair at that price and they accepted.
Edit: They have the original Alpha80s and different Evo models on there right now. Free shipping, just have to pay tax. Make them an offer
…it continues.
I’m reorganizing where things go for the new setup.
Figured I should box the good stuff in an accessible manner, while getting power supplies next to them.
And consolidate audio cables from other than audio cables.
Than the stack.
I decided to make a little jam area in one of the corners of my home office/man cave.
Now while I’m working I can just take a quick break, walk over to this spot and jam for a min. No hassle, got everything plus more I need for noodling all set up and good to go!
I have the same midi output from one keyboard going into the hydrasynth and my JV-880. I really like using plucky bell and string PCM sounds from the JV-880 and layering with heavily modulated pads from the hydrasynth. Get you a sustain pedal handy and boom, instant huge, dynamic and highly responsive synth patch that is super fun to play!
Now i have literally zero reasons to leave my studio lol
Set up 98% done! (Mob Psycho)
I’m just waiting for an LED strip light to hang underneath to see the sheet music.
The setup is the SL88 now has multiple sound modules depending that require only a press of some switches (and plug into the midi) to play. No menu diving unless I’m being clever.
The T-8 is there so I can program a quick metronome
The J-6 for Juno sounds, and the Volca FM2 for DX7.
Any sound from the compacts goes into the aux in of the Reface and is passed through to the Presonus 3.5’s.
The Grandmother is meant to be brought down and played on a table beside me.
P. S.
The Yamaha is the best E piano I got. I got all the NI and Spitfire Epiano. And an MC 101.
Miles better. It’s crazy. Drive, reverb, phaser/tremolo. Delay!!!
the other side of my setup, that i’ve put together recently. More or less finished. Last time i bought outboard i didn’t buy anything else for nearly a decade. Hope its a bit longer before i have to change anything here
32 channels of summing via 2xRND 5059’s, with 32 inserts and returns hooked up to my modular via 8 dsubs
sums to 4 stereo channels, which i can process with whatever pictured
those 4 channels then get summed again (goly stem mix) and there’s a path returning on a dedicated A/D (Burl b2) for the final 2 bus
32 ins available at all times via the patchbay, about 16 pieces of outboard also available at all times via the patchbay.
Dream processing setup complete with the most flexible routing I can come up with
Wowza!
I take it your lottery number came up?
Haha, turns out i’m better at trading crypto than I am at turning music into $. Let’s hope that changes (doubt it)
Any private tg group with crypto calls to join? Asking for a friend who wants FU money to spend on synths
Whoa, what the heck is that big rack on the top right? Looks interesting
Terry CEQ (dude is/was the tech at shadow hills industries)- it’s got a couple bands that are like a pultec. Super polarizing piece as it has no labels on it, but i dig it. Decent info online about it, but DM me if you have trouble finding it
lol man i just did everything on my own! i’d be lying to say I wasn’t lucky, but minting a ton of those cartoon animal NFTs really paid off. Not so much now, but i took my money and ran back to something that’s a bit less stressful and honestly way more fun than staring at charts and hoping insert governing body here doesn’t absolutely destroy the market with regulation etc.
anyone reading this, i would say like all speculative investments it was a gamble that paid off. Having some chops helped me take maximum profit but I wouldn’t recommend anyone to do it other than use it as an alternative investment method with an amount that won’t hurt you if you lose it all.
Wow a lot of work but I bet it feels really good to have it set just so and get to making music. Looks great too.
Clever
Holiday setup.
If you look at the back of the picture you can see a Syntakt lying down in the Chalet.
finish your vegetables or no syntakt for you.
It’s very rare that I see a studio rack setup and don’t recognize anything
It looks like a big mastering stack. The Knif, Looptrotter and 500 series lunchbox with 2x Elysias is pretty much all you’d need to get some analog lunacy going on. Gorgeous
Enjoy my friend, looks amazing!!
