Your Setups (Part 1)

It’s an underrated synth imo. Build quality can be a bit dodgy but the sounds it can spit out are awesome

I have a 3-desk setup in a U-shape. For the center, I have my main controller keyboard and two main Yamaha HS-8 monitors, which are driven by my mixer’s main outs… I balance the direction of the sound when I am not using the center desk, and sometimes when I am, with an old, but still nice pair of Audix monitors, that I blend in by using the “control room” outs for those speakers.

I have my main desk on one wall, with a door on each side of it, so an L- or C-shaped setup is hard to do. I like yours though.

I might end up running some very long balanced cables around the room to get from the second desk to the main desk on the opposite wall.

Sweet space! Happy holidays buddy

What’s the centrepiece unit, right above the keyboard? Very nice looking setup!!

Trying out a Model 12. If it works out like I’m hoping it will replace three pieces of kit by itself. I like the size, fits in nicely.

Ugh, how many times I’ve been in that situation. :expressionless:
Had to sell my _____ to stay above water.

It sucks but at the same time puts things into perspective.
I still feel like I’ve got more than I need hehehe.

Every device in my setup is incredibly deep and I’ve nowhere near mastered any of them yet.

I remember watching outside my kitchen window and seeing my friend carry the Minikorg to his car with an incredibly annoying smirk on his face. That was very agonizing.

LOL, was it raining, too? And did you call out to it and it faintly lit up for a moment?

Just kidding bro, I feel you - it’s just that “watching from the kitchen window” and he’s smirking that set off my imagination…

Hahaha.

I did call out to it, quietly lol.

oh jeez…
 I’m honestly getting some feels…it’s raining right now over here.

And honestly, I think if my Korg Radias or Yamaha RS7000 were ever hauled off by someone, I’d have quite a moment…15+ years and gigs across the globe with those 2.

I will be able to visit it at any time so it’s all good.

Sounds like you have a strong bond with your synths which of course is very understandable after all that time and all those experiences. Better keep those forever I reckon.

ATM only the Syntrx, MnM, Verde mixer and Tascam 244 feel like I could never sell them, as much as I love all of my synths.

I’m very into your “command station” type wrap-around desk.
I’m pretty sold on that way of working, myself.
It allows for not having to turn a full 90-degrees away from your monitors, which can be disorienting.

I’ve spent the night rearranging my video setup and will fire it up tomorrow.

Haven’t really touched this stuff after the exhibition this summer.

Do you have a channel I can subscribe to? I’d love to see some sounds.
