Not quite set up yet , but I got into samples this past couple months pretty heavily, and the sp404 is just too limiting to do arranging as a sequencer. Plus, I’ve seen some bangers from Spinscott and Fred Again with the stand alone version.
Super dope, love all the woodwork and plants to balance out the tech.
Not really, no. I have made very few videos involving my own stuff. After years of doing video tutorials and demonstrations as part of my day job, I find it very difficult to muster up the desire to do them for “fun”. Here’s one using the Moog Model 10 samples I made for the Tracker:
Model 12 update: man this thing rules. Sounds great, dead quiet. One knob compressors per channel are actually quite useful. Some of the fx (like pingpong delay) are pretty decent. Next need to get it set up in Ableton.
Out of curiosity, what three pieces of kit will the Model 12 be replacing in your setup, should it pass the test?
Mixer (obviously) as well as 10in/12out DAW interface and midi controller.
those acoustic panels are sick!
more info would be greatly appreciated
@RhythmDroid
of course, its possible to reach every piece of gear without leaving the sweet spot, that much. Besides, annoying encounters with the table legs are history.
@taiman
I made it, like nearly everything, out of OSB (12mm frontplate, 18mm frame). They are filled with 10cm - 20cm Rockwoll. Behind the frontplate, there is one layer of black Molton to cover the wool.
The holes may be 17mm or 19mm, I dont remember. There is no big math behind that decision. I didnt want to disort the absorption properties too much, so I chose a relativly big diameter. It was a hell of work
Did a similar thing a few days ago and got rid of my Behringer Mixer (QX 2442) and my audiointerface (UR 22 MK2). I’m still trying to find the best audio routing to the Zoom L-12 with its 8 mono and 2 stereo inputs. Maybe I have to upgrade to the L-20 later, to get every soundsource to my DAW with its own channel, but it works quiet nice at the moment. I’m using the Octatrack as master clock and performance mixer, looper and effects machine (thanks @ ezbot) for Digitakt <- Perkons on A/B and Digitone <- Peak on C/D feeding into one stereo channel on the L-12. The other stereo channel is used as return for Doctor A Reverb/Delay, witch gets its input from one of the five headphone submixes. This channel can also act as return channel from my DAW. Deepmind 12, Poly D and a submixer with Take 5 and Korg M1 are going to two panned mono channels each. Im still waiting for 2 longer audio cables for Take 5 and M1 to connect directly to the mixer without submixer. Next step is to involve the Launchpad to the dawless part, I’ using it only as Ableton controller at the moment. I’m thinking about controlling Digitone and Peak via Midi with costum templates.
Multi-quotes, since I’m catching up on a backlog of posts. It’s been a busy (and fun) holiday season .
Those look like Airwalks – this is so 1998, I’m having flashbacks. Love it, thanks for sharing!
A lot of power in here – time to get to work!
Damn! You’ve got the eye! Yep. They were Airwalks alright! This photo was taken in my beloved hometown of Encinitas, CA - surf and skate epicenter - so I came up from that culture. Tony Hawk went to this exact high school and (air)walked the halls you see in the photo.
Oooo PEK!!!
no mpc
/me sheds tear
It’s on the shelf. Still gets used from time to time.
I wish!!!
It’s a MEK.
Actually always wanted a PEK, but it was to expensive
When I bought it, I went to the shop to buy a desktop Evolver and came home with the MEK ( I didn’t even know they excisted as they were just out ) …this was already a stretch, so paying double for a PEK wasn’t an option…
Ah! Nearly as good. Same basic experience from a hardware perspective. (lots of control for a fairly bonkers synth) Nice! Yeah, a PEK would be lovely, but I never got one for the same reason.
Props for the Reamp just chillin there. Those are so useful. That OP1 looks like a lotta fun
The techno trolley’s current formation, off grid…for now.
Tape loopy experiments via Tensor and Mood, released into the Cosmos!
Woah its like @Fin25 Holland and Barrett edition
