Interesting. What do you do with all those… stages?
so far envelopes, clocked lfos, free lfos, and really really enjoying hand playing the addressable sequencer mode
also was just fooling with harmonic oscillator mode thru warps and the other stages jiggling the whole patch around
What PSU do you use with your XoXBox?

Today’s setup is working out nicely. OP-1 (or DN or OT or whatever you want) into all the Field Kit goodness then into Polyend Tracker for sampling or playing along or tape loops from OP-1. This is better than I thought it would be.
Kinda noobish question, but what’s the gear at the right of the picture between the td3 and the “808 lookalike” ?
that’s an old korg electribe
Now with better firmware.
how are you driving the spring reverb tank?
The KE Field Kit FX does that
I see the vestax
love it! Especially with op1
like @PeteSasqwax said, the Field Kit FX has a channel for the reverb. It’s dirty-sounding but cool for feedback and craziness.
cool. i’ve been thinking about picking up a 20 quid reverb tank off amazon and having a play. i can probably drive it off an old headphone amplifier, if i can find it…
I would like to branch out and experiment with some different spring reverbs even though I’m not the biggest spring reverb fan. Where’s a good place to look?
Are you just looking for different tanks to try with the FKFX or a whole unit? I know this won’t help you directly as they’re in the UK and there are bound to be many closer options for you, but Black Magic Amps sell a range of tanks and what may be of more interest to you is the pair of documents on their reverb tank page:
http://bmamps.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=73
A friend of mine who used to service guitar amps reckons that old, rusty tanks sound “better” so a secondhand unit might be a good option. His rationale (no idea if this is true, but I can see how it might be) is that tanks which have some degree of degradation (pitting, for example) offer more interesting tones.
For driving a tank there’s always the Gabe Roth option:
I have this old 1977 MusicMan HD130 amp and the reverb has never worked since I got it back in the 90’s. I’m thinking of taking the tank out of it. Maybe it’s fine and it’s just a connection or old wire. Ostensibly it will be to try to fix it but, it may turn out to be a good tank for the Field Kit FX…
And yes I will check out that link. Thanks!
EDIT: In the excellent FKFX manual (which is printed like a book- other manufacturers, why don’t you do this?)it says the FKFX is optimized for a certain type of tank (8bb_c_a)so I’ve done a little googling and found all kinds of cool tanks. One even has 3 springs and is much longer, bet that one sounds bigger than the one I have. $23. Anyway, another rabbit hole I guess.
nice setup!
lemme recommend SKB case for you 10x2 or 10x4.
lighter than that beast, and MUCH more friendly on those occasions when you find yourself being clumsy…
I have 2 of them for mounting various gear, soft plastic edges saved me more than one bruise for sure.
are you speaking just eurorack, or in general, LoL, can of worms…
I’m not sure
LoL, fair.
Blue Sky seems to be gold standard for euro plus type performance piece, if you’re going for that type thing…
Or big sky, whatever…
