Your most unused eurorack module?

I have Typhoon and it’s freaking great!

yes typhoon is even better with kammerl firmware on top of the parasite one

Really?
I have this module. Works fine, no added noise.

(But what would I know, I use a quadraverb, and many inherently noisy synths…)

Is this something we have to install or does it come installed on it?

i think the only module were you have to install it is the original Clouds.
My Typhoon came with the custom firmware…
You switch engines by holding the sample rate button untill it blinks and then just press again to switch FX type.

It looks even cooler when being configured or in use, all these lights of different colours pulsing or “breathing”. But ultimately the UI is too complex unless one is using it in a very simple way, or every day. That seems to be a common theme among many of the nominations here.

the monsoon comes with the parasite firmware , the original clouds not,
the advantage of the parasite is that it includes the original clouds algo.
to install the kammerl firmware you have to flash the new firmware ( on og clouds and monsoon), which is not required on the typhoon

It’s the zombo.com of CV… you can do anything. Anything at all.

I always wanting one but was unconfortable with the idea to have a keyboard linked to my rack

More seriously, I’m a dev and I always have a hate/love relationship with mixing code and music by fear to code more than doing music.

(But each time I see a Teletype, I’m still tempted)

TT code feels nothing like other languages I’ve used. It’s terse and weird. Once you get in the flow with it, it feels a lot like any other kind of patching. Maybe even more immediate in some cases.

The awkwardness of the keyboard is definitely a thing. For me, it’s moreso the desk space than the cabling.

It’s been ported to VCV if you want to try before you commit.

In one of my many misguided and pointless rebellions against the most unnecessary things, I got fed up of all the “utilities first” “can’t have too many VCAs” comments I’d read and decided to take them all out of my rack. I quickly realised that using filters instead was unsustainable and very expensive so that didn’t last long.

yeah, it’s definitely not going anywhere anytime soon. always nice to know i have 6-8 extra vcas if needed. i sat down this morning with the intention of using all 8 and got something nice going with 1 and rode that out for the rest of my studio time

For me it’s my Mannequins Cold Mac. Bought it intending to use it for CV and audio manipulation, but honestly I don’t really need it most of the time plus I always have to dig out the tech manual each time I use it.
