What is your most unused eurorack module and why?
For me it is the Make Noise moddemix. Really cannot find any good use for it, and I think I also maybe do not understand what it is supposed to be doing.

Sadly an EMW VC Wavetable LFO, because it arrived in a non-functional state; at least the seller gave a full refund.
Everything else is pretty much connected to something else and is doing something, save for a matrix mixer and an EG at the moment because I donāt currently need them to do anything. Oh, thereās a Pico switch I rarely actually flip though; maybe it can move to a different case.
I actually use my 0-Ctrl far too little, but itās not really a module.

And hereās what youāre missingā¦
Now I get what this thread was for.
Moddemix is nice for cv voltage controlled attanuating & mixing!
For me its MI Clouds. I think it was my second or third module. So I guess it will have a special place (in my hearth).
I keep the XAOC Sewastopol around in case I want to interface with external instruments, but while Iāve had it for probably 8 years, itās barely been in my case. I listed it to sell a few months ago and then changed my mind. Almost everything else outside my case is gone except that, RIP, and a Multifilter 2 (which I DO have listed).
Itās just a good utility to have around
i hate it , i dunno why i still not sold it.
it does so many thing but a pita to use and everything it does , it does it bad compared to a dedicated module.
i canāt believe the hype even on the later more complete modules.
I use mine for the Pulsar VCO, and stereo tape delay. In 4 hp, those 2 uses alone are worth the space. As for the interface, yes its a pain. Which is why I only use 2 modes.
My least used module Pittsburgh toolbox.
ModDemix rules! Itās my favorite VCA, honestly. So much character. It has a beautiful smoky distortion when you turn the gain down low. Plus the bipolar lights look awesome.
I probably use the ADDAC 217 the least. Itās not as interesting a use case as I thought itād be and it creates really weak/short triggers.
Mine gets used with an algorithm for a long time, until I remember it can do other stuff and I try a different algorithm I hadnāt used before. Itās stayed in the rack more as a placeholder, if Iām patching something and notice I donāt have a module for an idea itās very likely I can use the Disting for it.
Itās probably saved me from buying stuff I donāt need, I think thereās value in that
Personally my most unused module so far is the Tempi⦠Simply because I donāt have much I need its triggers for, been using it as a weird tempo-syncād modulation to trigger the Zadar or Maths and catching the happy accidents.
I was about to put a Clouds-clone back in my rack for the reverb
Okay, maybe it deserve a little more effort on my side.
I dont have one, but Ive used the mirack version. Good reverb.
This is probably for me the biggest gap between expectations / on paper and time spent racked. First device from u-he, hardware designed by Tubbutec. Four modes: matrix mixer, sequential switch, quad mucorder, quad panner. Each with various add-on options (quantization, slew, clock division, offset, etc.) Translucent push encoders with multicolour LEDs beneath. Sounds great!
I bought it for mixing CV and quantizing it to get new melodies, but it was underwhelming for that, and the encoder resolution too coarse (fine for audio, not for CV). The mucorder was awkward to record with and the mutation variation range inexplicably expressed in octaves instead of semitones. I was never going to use the panner. For anything but the simplest use of the matrix mixer, one has to consult the manual or cheat sheet. It sounds like it could get pressed into use in a pinch, but Iād have to remember the possibility, and find space for it. So it stays unracked.
But⦠u-he needed a source of voices to show off a quad envelope in development, so they wrote an alt firmware that made CVilization a quad oscillator, and showed that off at the last Superbooth. They keep promising to release that firmware, and it is almost time for the next Superbooth. I keep hopingā¦
Looks really cool tho!
mine is the doepfer octal vca by far - usually maybe use 1-2 of the rows. will have to try some patches this weekend using all 8, could be some nice modulations paired with the matrix mixer
But⦠VCAs⦠youāre not supposed to have too many.
