I thought it would be cool to document my progress on the Digitakt/Digitakt II. I started with an OG Digitakt. Here are the patterns that I created on that starting from the very beginning. I now have a Digitakt 2 and will be uploading the stuff I’ve been making on that very soon, but for now, here’s where I initially started! Even though these are clearly made by a beginner, that’s kind of the point, but I actually do love a few of the patterns in here.
Are you gonna share your projects. Even beginners can teach ya know?
This!!!
If DT II is the only sequencer, does it qualify for this topic? I hope so
To be noted that the Nintendo Switch is not sequenced
listening right now… within the first quarter, can one consider this uk dubstep inspired?
Also your volume pot seems as loose as mine when my unit arrived. Elektron would replace it if you notify them. New unit is fine.
Not sure I’d call it dubstep, but that’s not really something I listen to either. Also, no offense but not sure why you’d think the volume knob is loose based on this video? Mine is fine, no issues at all with it happily.
It appeared to me in some frames that it wiggled when you touched it… might have been my eyesight then
Sorry to tag you again about this. But I spent the whole weekend learning and building a song with my OG Digitakt. I mostly paired it with my Microfreak and sampled in all the basslines and synth parts I made.
I came back to your track to revisit again and I was wondering if you can go into some detail about this song. Like the samples you used, did you sync some external gear and then sample it in?
To be perfectly honest, I don’t fully remember because I sampled a bunch of different sounds to build a quick pool of synth sounds from the MPC and the Syntakt prior to sketching out this song. I also played two samples simultaneously and resampled it to make a new sound in the moment of creating the lead (the sound playing in the mid part “peak” moment).
My friend and I mix our tracks together and we do provide both the synth/groovebox project files + Ableton 11/12 live sets for all of our published music on Patreon. I’m not trying to sell you stuff here though, I’m just pointing out that we do provide the projects to those who want to learn from them.
Like most of our productions, this one was mixed in Ableton and I replaced the built-in reverb with a stock reverb in Ableton. That does make a difference to the overall atmosphere of the mix because it means you have more control over which sounds should ring out longer and wider (eg the lead has its own reverb).
In our OG Digitakt review on youtube, I’m playing a few patterns from the original project, as in, without the additional mixing applied in Ableton. Between Elektronauts friends, DM me and I’ll be happy to send you the original Digitakt project itself for you to check out. ![]()
Okay, it is digitakt 2 with heat+fx
New live set rehearsal, Buchla is sampled info dt2
Hi! This is my most recent live set, a weird mix of breakbeat, hip-hop, house and abstract glitchy stuff.
100% Digitakt 2 with external mastering (also I edited some terribly played parts out).
great! if you add improvised vocals like Skye Edwards and if you do a good mix then it will be good release
