These seem interesting. Yamaha Youtube Channel just uploaded dozens of demo video by different artists.

That is interesting. Wonder what the “electro sounds” are… sample-based I presume?

Yeah looks promising. I used a Handsonic 15 for many years. This seems like a smaller more affordable/obtainable option. Looks like there is a dumbed down version available also

I have to wonder who their target market is. To me the little speaker points to the very low end, kids on the bus, first instrument crowd.

Eight additional RGB pads not only allow you to use more sounds, but also add excitement to your performance with flashy RGB lights.

Made me laugh. But these look interesting. Really enjoy finger drumming on my nord drum 3p so something built for this seems fun. But it also looks just like a keyboard with a space bar which puts me off slightly. But I can add excitement to my performance with flashy RGB lights so it’s all good.

Volca, Boutique, and/or SmplTrek …?

yamaha US site says 387, b+h says 300. seems a little pricey at 400 but at 300 maybe? i kind of understand the market. I kind of just want to pick a kit and go. i play rock music with friends and the elektron gear doesnt always get me there

I’d definitely be willing to pay the extra $0.80 it costs for a USB-C port. I guess they needed to cut costs someplace.

Break out the soldering iron (you know it’s going to happen).

So it’s ugly and expensive.

That’s what the marketing is looking like so I guess you’re right.

I’ll definitely look into getting the black one, just waiting for some reviews to come in. This would be great for adding “live” drums to ITB stuff, and with a few good percussion samples, I could see using this thing for playing shakers and stuff. Tried that with the LP Pro, but setting it up is always a hassle.

Other than that, might be worth a try for brightening up boring train rides.

Good marketing. However very few of us will ever be as skilled as Tim Kroker. :sleepy:

I wonder what the philosophy behind the pad layout is. I’ve never seen a pad design like that before.
