Just bought these lovely wooden side panels for the Rytm, they also fit A4, octatrak and MD. Just wanted to mention them on here because they really improve the ergonomics and look great. I was starting to get a bad back spending hours hunched over but now the Rytm is at a perfect angle to work at comfortably. I was initially concerned about covering the side vents but the official word from Elektron is that this is fine.
Nice. Was looking at these but decided against as there’s no vent holes on the sides… The bloke told me he had spoken to someone official at elektron and they ok’d it but my instinct was if they wasn’t needed they wouldn’t be there, and my attic room was getting unbearably hot in the summer … Let us know how you get on tho.
I can tell you from experience that the A4 + Rytm run fine with the vents covered.
I’ve had both machines housed in the eit-1 by Company Of Quail for months, and not experienced any problems at all (and it gets quite hot here in the summer, being Melbourne, Australia).
Yeah, Elektron say it’s fine to cover the side vents, they sell rack ears which do just that. All they recommend is that you leave a 1u space above and below. Obviously this doesn’t apply with these and with it standing up at an angle the four vents on the bottom are probably getting a lot more air into them to compensate
Ahh fair enough then. My units where getting really hot in the summer and it just put me off but your probably correct about the extra air from them being angled.
If you have back pain you need make break
And I have some black stand for 1 unit in black MDF or black plexi
I could make a price for the shipping

They do sit tight don’t they! Shame they don’t have a natural wood finish option though

I have the brightside panels. Really like them, easily removable for travel and the lids fit. Also not a fan of the finish. Might trace them and cut my own natural ones at some point or put a heavier coating on them. The finish is really thin.
