Looking for existing relevant topics is a wise move, anything like that can quickly become a proxy feature request thread - of which there is one
chasing future updates on the day of release for gear other than the released gear is a common thing that happens - there should be no expectation
digest what you like about the DT2 feature set and consider what might be transferable and submit that to a Feature Request topic

we like to keep topics tidy and would recommend contacting a Moderator if unsure why a topic was closed rather than asking in a new topic
it doesn’t look like it was a big deal, but phrasing it differently may have helped your cause
